So I heard Travis AFB has a shit ton of 360s on sale at the base exchange for 399. Just looked at my bank account and I think I could handle it, anyone have any regrets from buying it? See right now Im going through the phase where you try to justify to yourself why you're spending so much money, so help me justify :D

I have a 360 and i havent had any problems with it so far, looking forward to most of the games that are coming out for it. Halo 3, Gears Of War,Splinter Cell double agent,Ninenty Nine Nights,Enchant Arms,Fable 2,Blue Dragon,Sonic,COD3,RE5 etc etc etc. Just basically depends on your taste and wether or not you listen to all the sony/microsoft or nintendo's fanboy rants

Seriously though the online system is perfect... The Marketplace is god damn brilliant and the great games are starting to come down the pipe.

Graw, Fight night 3, Kameo, PGR3, DOA4, Amped, etc. Lots of good games.

Ton of great titles coming this summer too. The choice is obvious... Everyone should have a Wii and a 360. No need for a PS3 unless you really can't live without the 2-3 exclusives they're hanging on to still. And if you're a GT fan there's always Forza which is arguably better.

GRAW is awesome.

Fight Night 3 is ridiculously fun...especially if you're playing against a friend (especially in person as opposed to online) The knockout replay sequences give you the opportunity to say "YEAAAAAAAAAAAH bitch" as you watch your boxer wreck his.

Kameo is good if you like adventure games. Has great co-op (local and live)

Table tennis is coming next week :cool:

There's been no talks yet. It will (IMO) most likely be a bundle package... Perhaps halo3 (when that comes)

Remember what they did with the xbox... The JSRF/SegaGT, Tetris/Starwars, and NCAA football packages. I'd guess that's more likely.

Also I think they'll try to do something with the HD-DVD. I've heard rumors about that... They want the 360+HD-DVD to be less than the price of the PS3 so that'll probably be another package deal.

No but really, wii is going to be either 100 x better than 360 or 100 x worse than the original xbox. Regardless I'm never going to buy another console made by microsoft unless I see way more games that catch my attention. Gears of war looks fun but that's the only reason I'd want the system.. I can forsee ps3 coming out with a lot of sick games.

For all the 360 fans out there, I just beat condemned on pc...which was one of the scariest games I've ever played (which was exclusive for 360 up until april) so definately go pick it up.

Yeah it really lends itself to playing on a console IMO. The controls are pretty tight and it's a slow and methodical shooter so the controller doesn't hinder you really.

I play mostly single player or multiplayer at my house, but I am trying to get started playing live. So far my only setback is that my 360 is in my living room, while my dsl connection is in my office, and I dont really feel like buying a wireless setup just to play xbl, but I guess I probably will if the xbl multiplayer is that good. I have to say I was only moderately impressed with xbl on original xbox.

I'm not against it or anything...but what's so appealing about the online feature. Reading gamepro magazine I was trying to catch up on the consoles and they were prerating the systems for what they seemed to be best at. As I remember wii was best for games, price, and the something along the lines of new features. PS3 for graphics/speed, and 360 for best console with online use...but I don't see what's so appealing. What are some good games to play online and what makes it better than playing dod;s or cs or something?

I bought the originial xbox a little after it was released, that's why I have nothing but bad things to say about 360 besides the online usage. TBH I think gears of war will be an amazing game but I can forsee myself buying the system again to play the game for a little period of time then never touching it again.

I'm not really into sports games at all and I'm sick of the gun/car combination games.

Regardless I might have to purchase 360 for resident evil 5 unless it's released on wii (which won't be for the lack of graphicZZ) so I'll have to make the decision between ps3 and 360.

Well... Imagine everyone who plays PC games using Xfire. That's basically what the 360 system does. Not to mention the achievement system. So now you don't have to tell your friends "Hey fuckers, I perfected every Burnout event" because it's in your profile.

Also... Every game has global leaderboards. So if you and your friends want to see which one of you has the best geometry wars score, or the fastest times in PGR3 (or whatever) you can do that.

Also you can see how you stack up against the rest of the world in pretty much anything that's trackable in most games. The downside to this is... You think you did really well on something and then log into xbox live and see that 8000 gamers did it better ;)

Anyway... The whole online system is seamless. Voice chat (For me I have a friend who's out of state and rather than use up my cell phone minutes I can talk to him on the 360. (And I can do anything I want while I'm talking to him.)

There's a lot of little things like I mentioned that make it a perfect online system. Also... remember during e3 all those videos, pictures, etc that were coming out... Xbox live users were able to download all that shit right onto their 360 and play it on their HDTV (if they have one)

I'm really only mentioning about 20% of the greatness that is Xbox Live. Like I said...It's a lot of little things.

That's kinda pricey to just buy a new hdtv...and IDK about you but I don't really play consoles for the best online usage. I'm guessing you do. I've always been more of a nintendo/sony kinda person regardless. I won't feel robbed at all sacrificing good online compatibility for sweet ass graphics, faster speeds, a new way of gaming, and sweeter games. If xbox 360 is much sweeter in the end, the price will have dropped so much to compete with nintendo wii that it won't feel like such a waste when I buy it just to stare at it.


edit: And when ps3 comes out I'm definately going to use it to it's full extent.

I guess I don't get what your complaint is.

You make it sound like the 360 somehow requires you to buy a new HDTV or that the PS3 will somehow use an HDTV to a greater extent....and neither is true. 360 has the same chance of 1080p output in the future as ps3 does IMO. (No games support the resolution. There are doubts that sony will be able to pull it off as well. We'll see what the HD-DVD does once it's final)

If you don't have a TV to support it the ps3 isn't going to buy you a TV that does.

Didn't know 360 would output a 1080p. Wasn't really complaining but mentioning it was a waste to have spent money on a hdtv especially if it was for gaming when they are soon to come out with much more sweeter hdtv technology which will be awesome for when the ps3 comes out.

Me too, without the whole online part. I prefer playing with friends irl. That's why I found the whole xbox online halo2 thing stupid...I tried playing online with my friends but It's just more fun going over to their house to play em. But then I usually just bring the cube to own it up in mario tennis or something sweet. After awhile I just ended the online subscription and my xbox hasen't been plugged in since.

Well Xbox Live on the original Xbox is not anywhere near what it is on the 360. The only element of the original xbox live that the 360 version has is the friends list. Everything is added and enhanced. Sony and Nintendo would have to pull a miracle out of their ass or just blatantly copy Microsoft's online setup to rival them in that department.

And to clarify the system could be capable of 1080p. There are no games right now that would support it. Most people have their doubts that 1080p is going to work in this generation... My point is that it's not really an issue because of that.
