Topic says it all.

Also, if you have already graduated from college, what DID you major in?

I'm an EMT, I'm going back to tech school to become a paramedic...and eventually I want to get my RN. I'd like to wind up as either a Physician's Assistant (basically an MD with only 3-4 years of school instead of 8-14) or a flight paramedic/RN.

I was in college for 3 years as about 5 different majors...it got old. Make sure you really want to go to a university before you get started, it's hard to make drastic changes once you've put a few years into something.

After I graduate from High School this June I'm going into a Aviation Science program through Portland Community College. After completing that I hope to find a job as an Airline Pilot.

I'm surprised how very few people have said this (gg CS nerds missing the boom by about 5 years), but political science and maybe a minor in business if I feel like it.

Either business or music, that is...

i recommend ANYONE getting or planning to get a cs degree...try and get some experience and your foot in the door, cs majors are one of the hardest jobs to find now since the boom

i am getting my teaching degree in elementary edu. but i teach world civ II (grad. ass) here at college

Psych with a minor in one or multiple foreign languages. Ideally, I'd like to have Spanish, Mandorin, and German in the bag. Perphaps I'll have to study some of these on my own though, college = $$$. I also find astronomy really interesting but there is little money going in or coming out of it. I guess I'm "almost-decided" :p .

Taking culinary program at my local City College, however, the culinary program at my school is one of the better ones in the country. I plan to get my degree in the culinary arts, and work in the kitchen and hopefully someday I will be a personal chef, that is my ultimate goal. But opening up my own fine-dining restaurant would also be nice. Maybe even be like Emeril and have my own show on the food network. :)

Computer Science and Economics

I'll be continuing on to get a PhD in Econ, hopefully, as long as I get accepted to a decent school with some sort of fellowship.

Looking back I should have gone with something that would lead me to med school but I was a moron when I entered, guess I'll just have to wait for my cousin in India to come over and rape med school here and live off his glory

what does Software Engineering have to do with (like, what is involved in it?)? from maizy's post about there not really being that big of a need in jobs for CS majors I've started to kinda look around at other majors just to see what else I might be interested in (I've wanted to do CS for a long time....like years) and if anyone has suggestions for good math/science majors to look at I'd be thankful

software engineering = all the processes involved with a software project, not just coding, which is the smallest phase. you learn about the different phases a project goes through, including analysis, design, coding, testing. as a software engineer, you have to be able to do things like, analyse risks, estimate costs for the project, come up with a good design of the application before coding so that the coding phase is as small as possible and many other things.

Also, my professor said, "programmers are a dime a dosen these days, software engineers are very hard to find", so software engineering mmight be a better choice than just plain cs.

the majority of colleges im looking at has pre-med as a major...hmmm why do i need to talk to my advisor? what is he gonna tell me? major in biology and chemistry instead of the stuff that interests u?

[13]Mael

quoted by Unabomber::::

I entirely agree on this matter. As long as someone has the core courses, and does well in them, along with decent MCAT's and recommendations, then the major doesn't mean anything. [/B][/QUOTE]

yeah i know that...i know a few business major's went to med school and stuff, i guess i could see taking the extra course and getting the biochem major...but im 17 as of now...so ive got time to think about it :D
