Greetings.
Well i made a post about this a few weeks back but the great admins here probably decided to delete it because their web host wasnt included.
So I ask again:
Im looking for web hosts. Decently priced with good service, php mysql etc. space really doesnt matter -- i dont think i'll be hosting demos or anything, but maybe maps and a few other things.
And i'll definitly want to play around and learn php and mysql and all that good stuff, but if its not included thats ok too.
Thanks guys!

I don't know if it would meet your hosting needs, but you could always run a webhost off of your computer. You could get the php and mysql experience in, and the price is right :)

Get XAMPP - http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
As far hosts go I use Malevolent and love the speed.

dreamhost has excellent deals if you are willing to pay quite a bit up front. All of their best deals are if you sign a 2 year agreement. As soon as I get some money, I'm definately going with them. www.dreamhost.com

Don't go with dreamhost if you want decent speeds. With web hosts, you really get what you pay for.

I thought dreamhosts speeds were fairly good? Been a while since I downloaded anything from a dreamhost server I guess.

Laugh. Talk about a ridiculously over-priced and over-hyped web hosting service. Do you have a hosted by media temple image on your site?

their customer service is run by people whose english is pretty bad.
that's pretty much it.
when i first started it was down like once a week or so.. but i dont remember the last time it was down or slow.
oh, and the servers aren't in the greatest of locations so speed varies.

I tried going with a "budget" webhosting service for my first site, and I got only headaches. I then switched to Media Temple, and I have had - and I'm serious with this - literally only three periods of downtime, and they've lasted less than 1/3 of the day (meaning, an average of only a few hours).
I'd be careful with going with the cheaper sites. It's more of a gamble. I wouldn't do it again. The extra money spent has been worth it.

There are those that'll tell you not to get them. I for one, have not had one problem with them. Speeds are pretty good, as is tech support.
