at around 2 am i was doing some avi work, and was saving a txt with the times from a demo. i had it all my demos in a rar folder, around 60 demos or so. i saved the txt to the rar, causing it to save over all my demos. i didn't have a system restore date set. is there anything i can do to get these back? :(

The computer should make checkpoints every day by default. I "think" it saves every day. If not, you will have to go back a few days and see if it works.

don't you just click a day from the calendar you want to restore back to?

about half way down.

Because by default it doesn't make them every day.

If you want it to make them regularly you have to make a scheduled task for it.

there are programs you can use to get these back but if you have been saving or deleting anything since, you can get some corrupt ones back. When you delete a file, the OS unlinks that file but it doesnt delete the space its taking up until you save something in that space. So when this happens, you need to stop doing everything on your comp and run the recovery program. The more you use your computer after the incident the less you will be able to recover.

EDIT: NM, if the files were contained in a rar file and you deleted them from the rar file, i doubt you can get them back.
