If you're going to want to play games, no, it's wireless.

i chime in with the same..
for just internetting and getting your mail and just cruising the 'net, wireless is fine.. but for gaming, it really sucks.. huge lag/choke issues will ensue, guaranteed.. if you are seriously looking at gaming, then run a wire from the router to your computer.. the vast majority of routers for home use, even if wireless, will have maybe 4 wired connections available..
and yes, i have tried it and demonstrated this in my shop to others.. i have several computers on wireless in my shop to show this to be true. the rest of the shop is hard-wired..

Heres my situation with wireless, yes I have to have it. The computer I play on right now seems to have the D-Link wireless router here and it connects right to my computer. Now My internet is fine, same on the other computer. The only problem I have is when someone calls my house then I get disconnected for like 5 seconds every 30 seconds or so (speaking as if someone in my house is talking). But its a big ass pain playing tfc, cause I get a Warning Connection Problem then I have to wait abit for my clone to drop out to reconnect. I am building a computer soon when the conroe comes out, and its going to be put into my room, so is there any suggestions how I can fix this stupid phone problem with atleast the computer thats gonna be away from the router. (Sorry cides for asking this question in your thread, but i didnt want to make a new thread about the same thing really)

You *should* be able to. Almost every wireless router I've ever encountered has sported at least four jacks for wiring a few machines in addition to the wireless capabilities. Just check the back of the router for jacks.

could be this, or dsl.. if on dsl, you need to have a better line filter for the dsl on your line to quit this stuff.. for wireless phone, i use a 900mhz one to make sure it does not interfere with my wireless internet setup.

Yeah, if on DSL, make sure phones have filters on them.
Regardless, change the channel your wireless is operating on - isn't the default usually like 6? Try somewhere near 1 and somewhere near 11 if so.

just to add a little to this, Channels 1, 6, and 11 are the only channels that are spaced far enough apart that they can be considered non-interfering channels. For instance, if you have a neighboor that is running his/her router on channel 6 and it is interfering with your wireless signal, then moving your channel down to 5, 4, 3, or 2, or up to 7, 8, 9, or 10 will probably not solve your problems entirely. Stick to either channel 1, 6, or 11.
