What are the odds that I fried everything in my gaming box? I took it apart and cleaned all the accumulated dust, etc....then I put it back together and turned it back on...

Sparks shoot like 6 inches out both fan holes in my power supply...

What are the odds that I fried my motherboard, CPU, vid card, etc, as well?

probably pretty good i'd say.

you can always hook it up to another psu and see what happens.

Did you use watter to clean the case? I would say at LEAST your mobo is shot. I would be surprised if it wasn't. maybe you got lucky and it just raped your PSU. I would stick a new PSU in as sutter suggested, if nothing happens replace the mobo.

probably at least the motherboard.. i have had this happen to me too, and most of the time, the main thing blown other than the psu is the motherboard.. rarely anything else.. next possibility would be the cpu itself.and then the memory. just my vast experience with this sort of thing.. (30 years of computers and tens of thousands of computers built and serviced... and yeah, i built them at distribution for other companies, hundreds a day on the assembly lines that i ran.. )

I had a PSU blow out on me before, I was pretty surprised to find that nothing was damaged

same shit happened to me. the power connecter for my floppy had only 2 out of 3 pins connected. my psu started smoking and it had a slight orange glow inside. pretty much the worst smell ever. the wire from the psu to floppy was singed and melted to the floppy. the floppy and that power cord (modular psu) were fried, but everything else works to this day. that was almost a year ago.
