Weird TFC problem

Lately my computer has been locking up/lagging for a few seconds whenever I try to play TFC. If I'm just running a long, its fine.. but when I see someone or am in the middle of a fight it lags for a few seconds... its kind of annoying.

I've noticed this has happened recently when I installed a router.... Could this have caused this random lag in TFC? What should I do?

Get net_graph up and see what it does when you get the spikes. If your FPS drops, then it has something to do with your hardware or software. If it is your Internet, you should call your company or possible try it w/out the router.

IF it is a router problem, it would be caused by bad firmware in the router.. check the version of the router firmware and upgrade from the manufacturers main site.

If it is a wireless router, and you don't use the wireless part, take the antenna off to make sure none of your neighbors are 'tapping' your free internet.

one of two things going on..

1. your dsl/cable is fubar'd up.. possible bad modem, bad connection, maybe even a bad router somewhere down the line from you.. run a tracert in dos to see if that is true..

2. you got something running in the background of your computer.. spyware, virus, keylogger, something.. check the forums here for further info on how to get rid of these nasty little inhabitants in your computer, or go to the microsoft homepage for further info.
