NEw comp but I suck building comp :)

So I ask your help cause it'S the only forum that have such good ppl in comp.

The only think is that I can only buy from there :

cause of 3 thing:
1- It's for my cousin
2- He (and I) dont want to built it
3- he doesnt want to buy by the internet

The computer will be mostly use to do video. He study in that.

He got a budget of 1800$ can (but the link show a can store so no matter)

I already did a little list of item (that I got at my home so I will update this post later) but I ear that there will be a new CPU that will blow all other one and it will not cost much. Any Idea of when this iwll come out ?

I was also wondering if 2 video card really worth it for someone that do video and video editing ?

The only thing we need is the "computer", no screen or keybord or mouse.

Stuff that I remeber it was on the list:
2x1gig of ram, crosair 667hz?
200 hard drive, Maxtor

official release of the intel core2duo (conroe) is july 23rd I belive, that or the 27th

The new CPU you are talking about is the Conroe, or what is now called the Core 2 Duo. From what I have read it should be out within a couple months. Benchmarks thus far have shown it beating out the latest AMD chip (which was overclocked to simulate AMD's new chip) by a pretty good margin.

I'm not an expert in video editing, but I would think that the more ram and the more powerfull cpu you can get the better. I don't think the video card is strained that much and 2 video cards in a SLI or Crossfire configuration would be wasted on a video editing machine.
