I'm planning on getting a new TV for the house; nothing crazy, a nice 32" TV will do just fine. I've been looking into LCDs and Plasma sets, but I know close to nothing about what to look for. I figure this is the perfect place to get some advice. What should I be looking for? What brands/models are good? Anything particular you guys would recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

my family recently purchased a projection tv...if a plasma screen is screwed it cant be fixed....the only thing that can go wrong with a projection tv is the bulb can go out and that is replaced very easily(but around 100 dollars).
stick with the big names i would suppose we purchased a Sony with WEGA...
about 3 months in and its worked great.
im not sure exatcly the size requirement for projection sets...but i would go with LCD simply because plasmas scare me.

I've been told Plasma screens burn out after just a few years, thats hear say so check into it.
I've seen a few large LCD screens that were unwatchable, they looked great when it was a static picture, but an action movie was nothing but motion blur, far and away the poorest picture I've ever seen.

well my friend got a 42 plasma tv. its not as good as i thought. my father got a 52' plasma from Toshiba and its great. only problems with projections are heat and bulbs. also ive read plasmas can burn out like previously stated. LCDs i love for games but i too have seen a problem with large LCDs. also i believe they are harder to clean but that could just be crazy talk. my vote would be for plasma of the two. i really like the Aquos tv sets and projection tvs too. good luck with what youbuy

My friend's dad has a 72" HDTV. All I can say is that it is the best picture on a TV I've ever seen. I don't know anything about TVs though.
