Even worse than PA I.

"WHAT'S IN PATRIOT II?

CPI's Lewis was not jesting when he told Moyers that Patriot II was five or ten times worse than the first Patriot Act.

Its provisions allow for secret arrests of persons in certain terrorist-related cases until indictments have been handed down and there is no time limitation for this process. America has never permitted secret arrests for indefinite time periods. In addition, Patriot II provides that these terrorist arrests may be under "no bail" conditions and that any federal employee who discloses the identity of someone who has been secretly detained may be imprisoned for up to five years."

There's more text at the above link. Also check out the link below for a video of Ruppert. He is a retired cop from Los Angeles, CA. The main emphasis is on the big picture of corruption in the government and how they are eroding basic principles of the Constitution using 9/11 as an excuse to do this.

I posted it as a quote and gave the link to the website. The material speaks for itself.

My quick search on this shows that it has only been read and since then nothing has been done with it. So am I missing where this is being voted on or something?

The supreme court just made a ruling last week that terrorist suspects in captivity are allowed basic rights, totally going against everything the bush administration has been doing and saying about prisoners in gitmo and what not for the past 4+ years. Hopefully/probably a sign of more "checking" of the executive branch to come.
