Well, the revolving door of players seems like a never-ending-cycle. I recall this being one of the primary reasons for leaving TFC in 2005. Nevertheless, I restarted [GoW] with the main goal being to transition into Fortress Forever (or now TF2, whichever comes first). Now flash forward to August of 2006 and what seems like a max exodus of players. I suppose I should be more stringent on who I recruit, but it's slim pickings these days.
Every now and then we get ahold of a truly great and loyal player, but it seems so far and few between that it makes things pretty unenjoyable most of the time as a clan leader. Luckily, [GoW] does still have a few in it that step up on match nights to lead when I'm not present.
Here's what I really want from someone and if you feel like you can give it to me, then please come chat with me in #gow on gamesurge.
I want a player who is experienced enough to know how to play his position.
I want players who have Ventrilo and use their microphone.
I want players that know how to comm well and play with their brain.
You need to show up on Monday night around 8:30 EST and Thursday night around 8 EST.
When you are in-game, you need to put your tag on without me having to ask you to put it on.
If in a match, you don't use MM1 to spew filth at the other team.
Oh, there's so much more, but if you can't tell by now I'm at my wits end with flakey players who can't handle losing. If you come talk to me you understand [GoW] is a Silver clan who plays Silver teams. If you want to join a Gold clan, then go join one. We lose some matches and we win some matches, generally at a little above 50%. We have played 430 matches since 1999 and hold many dubious records on the KSE.
We are currently recruiting the following:
2 Soldiers
1 HWGuy
1 Demoman
2 Medics
If you can play any of that, or a combination of those, and you meet the criteria above, then by all means give me a shout.
