Anyway yesterday and today I went on a little trip to St. Petersburg, FL (across Tampa Bay), and to an airboat tour at Homosassa, FL (about 70 miles north of Tampa Bay). I've never been to the St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay area so I decided to take a little trip there. I'll try to explain what was going on in the pics. I'll try and post them in order

There were 2 separate isolated T-Storms right off the Tampa Bay bridge, right beside each other.

This was at the St. Petersburg pier, this pelican actually FLEW right above my head and landed right in front of me about 2 feet away. This is probably my favorite picture out of all of them.

Picture of a performer doing different statue poses. During the entire time I was there, he would sit in different positions for roughly 20min without even slightly moving.

Picture of a HUGE manatee. The captain said it was the biggest one he has ever seen. This thing was literally longer than the airboat.

Flocks of pelicans...the captain said in the winter you can see up to 4,000 birds take off at once. I'm going back in the winter.

I live like 20 min from Homasassa springs but I've been been over there really. I was born and raised in the tampa bay area so the pics of the Pier and the Howard Franklin bridge I recognize.

edit: Do you really live in Clermont? I remember going through that little town on my way to Orlando, my friend has some older relatives that stay there during winter/summer, everytime I drive by it looks like its being built up nicer.

This picture looks very similar to a sketch that I made of a bird about a year ago...just noticed that when I was in the car on the way home

Back in the marina, a boat that looks like it's been halfway sunk for a while.

What I had for lunch today. Alligator tail with an order of buffalo wings.

Yeah I live in Clermont, I've been here since March. And yeah the area from what I understand is totally different than what it was 5 years ago. The town is growing like crazy. It's a nice town, but I still miss my Charleston, SC.

VIDEOS
Here are some short videos at the ballgame

Hargrove arguing a call at 2nd base, fans were booing because he wasn't getting thrown out
http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/Necmo/?action=view&current=MOV00263.flv

Sierra Mist, Pepsi, and Aquafina racing...ran out of memory on my stick near the end. Aquafina won the race.
http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/Necmo/?action=view&current=MOV00268.flv

Jorge Cantu coming up to bat. People were literally SCREAMING "HIP HIP JOR-GE, HIP HIP JOR-GE, HIP HIP JOR-GE." Apparently every "true" Devil Rays fan has a cowbell too. It seriously reminded me of a japanese baseball game because there was so much noise and synchronized cheering.

Fans doing the wave
http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/Necmo/?action=view&current=MOV00270.flv

On the airboat, we were following about 4 manatees when all of a sudden at least 7-8 more of them took off AT THE SAME TIME on all sides of the boat. We were literally surrounded by a dozen mantees at that moment. I only caught what it looked like after the fact because it happened so fast.
http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/Necmo/?action=view&current=MOV00279.flv

My personal favorite movie...
All of the mascots were right in front of us and there were drunk guys in back of me raising some serious hell throughout the entire game lol. One of the guys was yelling in the video:
"GET THAT MOOSE OUTTA HERE!", "GET THAT MOOSE OUT!", "GET THAT MOOSE OUT NOW!" The camera was shaking because I was cracking up.

Anyway, that's all that I'm going to show, the rest of the pics are either more aquarium shots or just more of the game in general.

All I can say is I'm going to go see more Devil Rays games, the fans there really surprised me...they were into the game the entire time and going nuts without stopping. The stadium was really nice and the noise was seriously awesome. I was impressed with the fan support there for a last place team that has never had a winning season. I'm also going back to Homosassa in the winter for a weekend to see all the birds and to do a little fishing with the same captain that I had today.

I don't know if you enjoyed the pics and videos, but I just felt like posting them.

Non-retractable domed stadiums should be burned in the ground.

It's one thing to watch the devil rays but to watch them indoors... ugh.

Open stadiums look a lot better I'll agree, but this was actually one of the most enjoyable games I've been to...air conditioning. First game at a dome for me.

I've been to a lot of Braves games, but day games are awful in the summer unless your seats are in the shade. It's way too hot. The only time I will go to an open stadium is for a night game

Kuniva: I normally work on most Sundays, but if I know that I'm getting one off then I wouldn't mind seeing the Bucs play

how do the fans react to delmon young?

I was at the devil rays game on thursday (they were playing the white sox) and there was this fan threatening to throw bats at him.

Manatees are pretty sweet.

Saw some in WPB last summer.

must be nice to live in a place where you can walk up and pay to get in NFL games.

That's a beautiful stadium, sometimes I really miss Kansas City.
First major league baseball stadium that was built with all the seats facing in the direction of home plate.
