im looking into various creatine supplements and have heard from a friend that nox-cg3 is the way to go.

im wondering if anyone has tried this product and can gimme some feedback, or can recommend another creatine supplement.

ive read up a lot on nox-cg3 and found many good reviews, but the occasional bad one make me want more feedback.

Xience has a lot of marketting hype because of UFC, but I'm not a big fan of it. Personally I'd just go with some pure German manufactured creatine without all that other crap added to it. Mix it with some kind of dextrose drink.

You pay for the name brand when you pay for Xience.

#bodybuilding we discuss this sorta stuff, i personally use 'Animal Pump' but if youre looking for mono go with prolab its cheap and effective.. if you bloat from mono or are a non responder try CEE..btw nox-cg3 is a no2 product too so there is a difference from just your regular creatine product and a no2/creatine product some you might need to take an extra post creatine product after you workout..

but yea as far as creatine goes, i've used a few different brands but i saw the most gains with anavol. creatine isn't all that great though honestly because most of the time you lose what you gained on it when you stop taking it.

I've never been a big fan of creatine, as the added expense just hasn't significantly benefited me enough to use it on a consistent basis. My essentials are as follows: protein powder, fish oils, multivitamin, bromelain, green tea, malto/dextrose, and a cal+mag supp. If you want to get really technical (and have the cash to do so), you can add a CEE product or a NO pre-workout etc. but I get just as good a pump from my protein/maltodextrin shake with lots of tea a half hour prior. My favourite supplement is STILL meat though...

Yeah, I dont like it because I cramp a lot, but maybe I just didnt drink enough water. Make sure you drink enough while youre taking it.

And come idle in #bodybuilding.

well if im just gonna lose what i gain on creatine why take it besides the strength boost =\

im right now taking a whey protein powder supplement and thats it
i do eat alot of meat in my diet though.

so should i just stay away from it, save some cash, and stick to my workout schedule?

another friend of mine mentioned maybe some muscle milk and protein powder

i dunno honestly, lemme know what u guys recommend

You will not necessarily lose what you gain on creatine. You just have to make sure that you continue to eat properly when you come off of it.

Have you reached a point where changing your workout regimen and or working out harder is doing nothing for you? If not, change that first, until you see no more gains, then consider supplements.

No sense in taking supplements until you understand 100% how your body is working and that you have maximized its capabilities.

IMHO.

multi, protein, glutamine, bcaas.
all you need right there.
if you have a good routine stick to it. getting big takes time. if you wanna get on creatine do it but don't expect to get big fast and stay that way without a good diet and discipline.

lol alright

thanks edub, void, everyone that contributed^

im not at a point where my workout regimen isnt getting results

the only reason i considered it was because of the strength gain and energy boost enabling better workout sessions....wasnt really to sure about the entire water weight thing. but thanks for clearing a lot up and helpin me out.

Micronized creatine is the only creatine you really need. The other "formulas" are just BS. Also, avoid any NO supplement. They contain 2 dangerous compounds.

I use Biotest creatine, $12.99 for 500 grams. http://www.t-nation.com/category.jsp?categoryID=34&pageNo=1

I always mixed my protein in enough milk to completely dilute it, and then add just a bit more milk, it had a thick texture, close to a milkshake. Strawberry Banana mixes well with the milk, too much milk and it's diluted garbage taste like the water though.

I used a shaker mixer, and shook the hell out of it so I didn't have clumps.

Not taking anything atm though because I'm trying to see if I can find a good balance of how my body is reacting to my workouts and diets... but in about a month, i'll me milking that nasty shit up again hehe.

YMMV, but it was the only way I could stand the garbage. I actually started to enjoy it, and considered it my little "treat" for the day.

ON 100% gold standard protien powder

Put it(a scoop) in a little less than half a 500ml waterbottle Shake up, I refrigerate it cause I think all drinks taste better cold. Well I dont think it, its more of a fact. But get it nice and cold. And it tastes like yoo-hoo. Its not bad in milk either.

and i wouldnt even use creatine. as long as you exercise regularly and eat healthily, its not necessary, just like pretty much all the other supplements and stuff. if your going to do anything, just take vitamins, and re-read token's post

The reason why you lose a lot of what you gain is because creatine retains water in your muscles (makes them look bigger). When you stop taking it, the water goes away

andr3w
September 8th, 2006, 02:56 PM
yea but even when the water goes away i wouldnt think u would lose everything

that would just be crazyness

Mercenary-VD

You won't lose everything. Provided that you're a responder if you train properly your strength level when you come off of creatine should be greater than your strength levels when you initially started taking creatine. For comparison sake, when you come off of creatine your strength level should be greater than if trained the same and did not use creatine.

Apart from its use for athletic performance creatine also has a significant recovery effect on cell volume. I suggest that you use google scholars or your school library (if you go to university) to look up some independent research papers on what creatine does. In general, there is alot of misinformation about supplementation on message boards as people tend to cite personal experience over research and fact.

Edit: A creatine non-responder is someone who eats enough meat such that they don't have a creatine deficiency or has high endogenous creatine production. Most people will benefit from some degree of creatine supplementation. One problem is that many people who attempt to supplement with creatine do not spike their insulin enough when they take their creatine. The end result is that their body doesn't digest the creatine and they end up shitting it out. Another problem is many people do not fully dissolve creatine before taking it. Monohydrate doesn't dissolve well in cold water, and as far as I know the creatine portion of creatine derivatives doesn't dissolve well in cold water either.

creatine does the water thing, as stated but it does help you do more reps. Really there are millions of things that could help you do more reps. One effective thing is percoset. With the painkiller in effect you can workout your ass off literally. LOL

Nonsense. Opiates do not increase endurance; they make you a vegetable. Stimulants, on the other hand...

They may not increase endurance but they kill the pain, and make you perfectly comfortable doing a few more reps. Try it if you dont believe me.
Stimulants though youre right are favored, for fat loss and working out.
They also kill the pain, even as good if not better than opiates. Opiates make you comfortable with the pain but amphetamines actually make it go away.
