ok seriously how is that not right.
A> will have the components of (Ax, 0) (its on the x axis)
B> will have the components of (Bx, By)
C> is the sum of A> and B>, therefore (Ax + Bx, Ay + By). Ay = 0.
my first guess was Acos(theta) + Bcos(theta), Asin(theta) + Bsin(theta) but it gave me the feedback of "The second component is not in terms of A" which is retarded because the sine of 0 is fucking 0.
i hate how all math/physics (this is for physics) classes are doing this online homework bullshit. pathetic.

Wouldn't the x-coord just be B*cos(theta) + Ax?

Everything seems right except x-cord. Shouldn't it be A + B cos(theta)? Your Cy seems right though.

I know it's already been answered for you, but I'd just like to point out that A doesn't involve the angle theta in the first place. Gotta keep an eye out for those things. Sometimes setting up the problem can be harder than the math itself.

You also need the unit vector 'i' - or 'x' in this case - because otherwise you have a 1x2 matrix instead of a 1x1 which you need.

yeah i just figured it was similar to the previous problem :(
anyways, i got a test on this stuff on thursday, but im more worried about 3d conics and cylindrical/spherical coordinates :|

seriously...last time i checked a vector has one x coordinate and one y coordinate.

Edit: On closer inspection, that might not be a comma at all. It definitely does NOT look like the other comma which almost immediately follows it...

Yes, but notice that the Bx = .... and By = .... are images themselves, similar to on wikipedia, ie. "The magnitude of the cross product is defined as http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/3/4/f/34fcebce07b0d9c2900062a971774ac8.png", made of some other font and not part of the Times New Roman type around it
