I passed over this thread a while back thinking "oh yeah another weird al record whatever" until I saw this:

Video directed by John K. of Ren & Stimpy fame, and it's a great video, but the real hook for me was the song. Apparently on this record, instead of all direct parodies there's a number of tracks where he does an original song that captures a band's sound or mannerism. I find that to be an interesting development for him, it shows greater maturity and skill instead of just aping some popular tune with different lyrics.

In this case the band is Cake, who I also really like so this music video is like a perfect recipe for me, and I find it awesome.
