I am going to be upgrading to a new system soon. I have had this one for a few years and bought it when it was tops. I am glad it lasted the four + years. That is a first and it is definately worth going out and getting top of the line.

I was going to get this whizzbangpow pc with all the bells and whistles and my ma bought a Mac notebook for video editing and said it was the cat's meow. Anyone have any experience with the two platforms that can give me a pros vs. cons? One big con would be if the mac doesn't play HL or other shit.

Thanks

they have Boot Camp for apple's intel based macs which allows you to choose between booting OSX or WinXP...i'm not sure if this allows you to run windows games or not but i would assume so

If you like your computer being compatible, don't get a mac. Even with boot camp they still have bugs that need to be worked out for it to work right. If you do video, photo, or any kind of editing the mac will be great for you. I would suggest getting a high end dell/alienware. Because for the price you pay for a mac, you can get a 7900GT in your laptop.

If you have to ask, then that means you shouldn't get a Mac.

Anything on the HL engine will run pretty much flawlessly in Bootcamp. Of course there are still a few bugs, but it's still in beta. I'm sure it will be fixed rather soon.

No. If you want to use mac osx just put it on a PC.
