Alright I need a new hard drive to put my Media files on. Im not looking for anything to crazy and would like to have it inexpensive. Probably about 160ishGB of space. The current hard drive I have is WD800BB-00CAA1. I do not believe that it is SATA becuase its fairly old. So please lmk what will be good and links are appreciated.

Diffrence between ATA100 and ATA133?

you just said that the current drive you had was not SATA, you didn't say your motherboard did not support it.

And the difference is faster transfer speeds assuming you have a cable that supports the ATA133 speeds.

Serial ATA = SATA

You should go ahead and get sata, the speeds are better.

And SATA is less resource intensive.

Can i run my current hd and a new SATA hd at the same time?

Yeah as long as one of them is the master and one of them is the slave. I would suggest making the old one a file storage and the SATA the master with the OS on it.

i got a 200GB seagate with a 5 year warranty for $80. With this new warranty by seagate, i have dedicated myself to their drives only. I have had too much bad luck with failing hard drives. i had a 160gb WD die just after the 1 year warranty expired.
