hi
my computer is really, really messed up. i can't figure out what it is, i got diskeeper like ghost and janus said, it worked very well but my trialware ran out of time... my computer is just spiking. my actually cpu is spiking on the graph in performance. it goes from 0 to 100% then it will go back down. i tried spyware, i tried defragmenting.. i don't know what it is.. i also lag out at times. i will be playing and then ill just lagout. i even bought a new modem but it didnt change anything. i have the side of my computer off, the removable part.. could that be part of the problem?

any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

you might have to reformat

a/v = antivirus, and yes, having an illegal copy of windows that isnt up-to-date is a pretty substantial problem.

ok. i'm not sure if this is going to help but here's what's running in my processes when boot my computer:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/roflcopter1984/myproccesses.jpg

i was ending most of the tasks because they look suspicious but i think that might be my problem.. i think maybe the guy who installed the windows on my computer had to install those so that windows would think i had a legal copy. i ran auto update and it worked this time but my power went out so i'm going to try again later.

First of all, get a legit copy of XP. Then get a good anti-virus and don't go to pron sites so much.

If you want a free AV for now. You can use AVG. I don't honnestly like recomending it but it's alot better then nothing. Download Me! (http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg71free_407a808.exe)

But get a LEGIT copy of windows and a better AV when possible. You can normaly buy an OEM of WinXP Home online for like $90 at NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832116056)

Anyone else find it really odd that his system idle is at 75 but his CPU usage is at 70%
Yer gettin jacked brother :D pick yer pron wisely..

A/V protection
Ad-Aware (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html)
Spyware Blaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) < I like this, it seems to work OK. Its more of a guard against it rather than a cleaner.

And like said above, get a good copy of XP, if you can't afford it, find someone with an old win2k disk they will give you. A legit version of 2k is better than a non-updated version of xp. I'll prolly get bitched at for this, but some will agree...

also i can't run winamp and hl because it freezes every 3 seconds for about 1 second.
i ran everything and i'm using a trialware version of norton.
anything else i can do to help my computer run at optimum speed?
any help would be very appreciated

trendmicro has a fantastic online virus scanner, and it is much better than norton will ever be.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

i also suggest getting rid of limewire and bearshare, and pretty much anyother p2p programs you may have (those are the only 2 i saw when i quickly browsed your log). also, do away with stylexp. it will help your performance out a lot.

honestly, you've been trouble-shooting this long enough IMO. you might as well just just a format/reinstall and only install the essentials this time.

nine youre seriously pathetic. i'm glad you're cool on this forum though you have to get some sort of happiness out of life.

anyways, i have that winxp.rtf file if someone could help me figure out how to update my windows using that or something it would be great.

i'm asking(according to nine i look like a faggot for doing it) because i don't know about this stuff, i didn't install the illegal copy, my dad had someone do it. HENCE THE REASON WHY I'M ASKING.

N4P4LM
October 11th, 2006, 08:46 PM
dude.... rtf is rich text format. it's like a word document. all you're gonna find in there is some xp cd-key that isnt gonna be validated by MS anyway. just spend $90 on a legal copy of xp home edition, format your pc, and be done with it.
