Alright I'm trying to setup a dual display primarily for use in viewing movies on my big screen. I'm connection my normal crt monitor through the vga port and a rca 52 inch hdtv widescreen into the dvi port. The problem I get is that I want to clone the display, and keep my monitor with it's 1024x768 resolution. On the big screen is just has a box in the middle with black all around it. I got an ati x850xt using the control center to change the settings. I checked in the menu settings on the tv and don't believe it's there. I also want to know if it's possible to bring audio to the tv through a component and I'd be able to hear it on the dvi. Right now i have it set up working through rca jacks and s-video, but wanted the improved quality. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or a program I could use to have different resolutions for each screen so I won't have to change it everytime I want to watch something or someone wants to watch me do something. If I left anything out I'd be glad to let u know if u ask.

Well first of all you can't clone the display and have different resolutions without stretching or shrinking the image. Your TV may support this but.. it would look like shit even if it did.

Ultramon (google) has a mirroring feature although I'm not sure how well it works for what you're trying to do. It would definitely be better than without it.. and there are other things it can do that are very helpful for multiple monitors.

As for sound.. DVI doesn't carry a sound signal so until you get a sound card with an out port better than 3.5mm or even composite, you'll be stuck with the way you're doing it now.
