Hey guys, I don’t post here to often but I at one time I was apart of the TFC community. I was in Battery, Notorious, SKS, CF. Anyway the other day I watched some videos of fatal1ty... don’t get me wrong he is a very good gamer but do you honestly think he is the worlds best at FPS. When I use to play tfc I remember playing against some amazing players like rent, capone, ultima, the_rock I can’t think of other players at the moment because its been hella long. But like if you think the best players in TFC were to play death match I guarantee they would be able to beat fatal1ty. On tv I seen fatal1ty play against 5 people who worked at some game place. Basically fatil1ty destroyed them and everyone thought he was unstoppable but really these 5 people sucked. There was probably only 1 decent guy who new how to use a keyboard. Dunno im not saying he sucks im just saying I think hes overated ..what’s your input.. Thanks.

in tfc you are only fighting half of the people in the server. in dm games you are fighting everyone, i think that environment helps your dm skills a lot more than tfc.

I've never personally played with him, but when I was playing ut2k3 I was playing with people he played with on a regular basis (mainly Kaizen members). They were all around the same skill level, espeically Tex, who I played on a regular basis, and I will say that none of them were all that dominating. From sitting in IRC talking to him, you can tell that Wendel is really in love with the idea of him being the greatest there's ever been, but if you played video games for 16 hours a day, you would be, too.

I said if the top TFC players were to play deathmatch games and train in it do you think they beat fatality... personally i think they would. I don't know if your oldschool or not but if you woulda seen like reenplay, or like atrocity awsome dmer or even like rent...you would shit yourself because the stuff they did was absouluty amazing...not just them though like htere is soo many top players u can think of...image if they were to master DM style games... and in matchs they do 1v1s im pretty sure instead of everyone vs everyone .

I've played against alot of those guys... and there DM style would have to change a shit load. Completely different style of play and mindset. TFC kill, die respawn... the kind of games fatal1ty plays... shoot run, control items, shoot run, MABEY KILL, shoot run.

He's yet to win a Quake 4 tournament after like 6 tries. Despite him being exceptionally good, he is definately beatable and does lose.

In pure DM games there's more to it than just run around and kill the other guy. A lot of it is knowing when powerups, armors, and weapons will respawn. I've played against some really good people in UT2k4 DM and it wasn't that I couldn't hit them. It was that just about every time I ran into them they had full health and full armor while I had 100 health and no armor cause the armor packs were missing.

Not sure how you think he doesn't make enough money, maybe you could look into it before making assumptions. Heres a few tidbits I found through google in about 3 seconds.

Yeah for sure, he was lucky to be the right guy at the right time to really capitalize on and market his skills. There are plenty of talented guys that came before him that, while recognized as gods on the QuakeCon circuit, never made headlines like Wendell.

All the same, I really enjoy my gaming. I'd think that if I started doing it full-time in order to make money to live on, I'd lose that enjoyment.

havent been in a clan for 2 years now. i played some gathers at the start of summer, but gave it up after a few weeks. havent played since june. i like playing videogames, but not as much as this guy.

This kid used to live down the street from me with his parents and I always saw him outside washing his green alien vs predator focus he won back in the day and he used to lan with some local friends of mine. Anyways...

He moved to his own place somewhere off state-line last I heard and just travels the world going to gaming competitions and promoting his gear/sponsors. So Im almost positive once he moved out of his parents house in my neighborhood a few years back thats hes been living independently since. He has in no way a god given ability he just has the dedication and practice to teach himself to be good. So if you guys want to quit your jobs and play 7 to 8 hours a day and make a name for yourself go ahead. Ill go ahead and keep going to college and working and play in my free time.

I played against fatal1ty once, 1v1 in Q3 DM17. He kicked my ass 20 to 3, and that was when I thought I was decent at that game. :( He really did have it all: great item control and timing, awesome reflexes, excellent aim, great movement, and hard as hell to fucking hit, it was frustrating lol

no other fps game has the kind've movement like tfc. reaction time i'm sure he has it, and aim well it can be trasnfered over to any fps game, ut series isn't hitscan but after a week my aim adjusted and the same can be said for any fps game. I've played quake1-4,the HL series fps cs/dod etc, ut/2k3/2k4, w.e None of them have the learning curve that tfc has, he very well maybe the best at those games i donno but none of those games encompasses the amount of knowledge needed to play tfc.

basically my point which is maybe ambigious is he can continue hoping from game to game being the best because their isn't that much to master, his playing time allows him to just develop the basic skills needed for the specific game and combined with what others said his aim/reaction time it puts him at the top.

Rep I think you're ignorant in your thinking regarding no other FPS game having the "kind've movement like tfc".

Q1DM players, and Q3promode is quite similar to TFC except you're moving faster (bhop uncapped), your reaction time has to be faster, your aim has to be more precise, and your timing has to be perfect (ie. timing armors and weapons).

look up videos by Def for Q1.

and Fatal1ty is good because he plays more than everyone else. Thats all there is to gaming. Its the same reason why wheaties is better than all of you. The only difference is Fatal1ty has to step into a new learning curve everytime a game comes out to make money from it. Whereas TFC players can only win pride from 1v1 battles.

yea rep thats very innacurate. as sk8 said q1 and cpma q3 all have identical movement to TFC with some added tactics like trimping, plasmajumping, etc.

if you haven't played another game as competetively as TFC you can't just assume that they are all not as advanced as it. he doesn't just develop the "basic skills" for a game, because you couldn't continuously win off that. take the shock combos in the unreal series for example, mastering those is just as difficult as mastering conc jumping.
