Well its finally here and im in love. Gothic 3 takes place directly after Gothic 2 which took place after Gothic 1. yea yea Goths are fags but this has nuthin to do with them. Gothic is very popular over in europe it never really got much publicity here which i have no clue why, the Gothic series has been the best RPG's I've ever played. Ive only put a few hours into the game and its pretty much like playing Gothic 2 just with updated graphics which is absolutely perfect. Gothic 2 took me 40+ hrs to beat with the addon it was 60+ hrs, I'm hoping the same for the 3rd. Very detailed story, lots of dialog. The graphics are comparable with Oblivion, not as pretty but pretty close. Oblivion seemed to put all their time in graphics and their main story line was beatable in a few hrs. Gothic has put most of their time into the story line which makes the game very long. If you're a fan of RPG's and or liked the game Oblivion or you're a fan of the previouse Gothic games you should definatly get this game. The games already out in the east and it should be arriving here Nov 13, 2006

yeah Nine, outta all the games this year this is the game i most wanted to play, actually wanted to play it since playin gothic 2 4 yrs ago, ive put alot more hours into the game and love it... the games a bit of a resource hog i tried max graphics and the game looks awesome but so choppy, im playin on med graphics now with texture detail set a bit higher and it runs pretty smooth still chops a bit when approaching a city.
my specs:
amd athlon 3200 64
1gb ram
x800 256 pro
I guess the game runs on the 64 vista beta, maybe when vista is fully out the game might run smoother, jowood has been known to release awesome games but a little buggy (spellforce another jowood game, great rpg series)

The game has been out in europe for like a week ½ now.
anyways, you forgot to mention alot of things.
#1. The game is full of a shit ton of bugs. (like on escort quest. if you stop and get a little to far behind the NPC he starts pathing threw walls and you lose him. I have had this happen like 6 times. :( )
#2. The Combat system is beyond crap. (boars in the forest can basicly stun lock you and kill you before you can do anything.)
#3. The Graphics are on par with Oblivion but the game is so terribly coded that the game runs like crap even on high end machines. I can run Oblivion at 16x12 with 50 - 70 frames. with AA and stuff enabled. You try to do that to this game. lucky if you pull out 20fps. 40 in the fields if your lucky.
This game has alot of potential to be good. Id recommend everyone wait for a demo. or at least wait for 6 - 7 patches. Game just seems like it was half ass and was rushed.

i did mention the game was buggy, nuthin that wont be fixed with upcoming patches, yea the boar thing can get quite annoying they rape the shit outta me due to the glitch if u attack them right it wont happen tho just save frequently.
Nine i actually perfer spellforce 1 with the 3 expansions over spellforce 2, they took alot of kool stuff out from the 1st one to make it more easy and user friendly, if u havent played the 1st and u like the 2nd u should check it out when u get the chance
oh ya just to add about the story line, in #1 there were many factions within the prison you could join cant remember all, in #2 you could join up with either the mercs, palidins or mages. This 1 takes place after the war, where orcs rule most of the land and cities, you can either join the orcs and murder the rebels or join the good side with the rebels and take back the fallen cities, so theres a fair bit of replay value to the game, im doing the rebels and the game is fun as hell i love but the bugs can make the game frusterating

i was just reading gspot forums and came across a tone of threads about the fighting style and gettin raped by animals due to game glitch. its actually not a glitch at all its just player newbness, certain animals such as boars attack faster then u can swing a sword, so if ur just swinging for the fences ur gonna get raped and get frusterated and blame the game. if u actually fight with some tactic u shouldnt even get hurt, i never do now. also makes more sense to hunt with a bow rather then a sword. i beefed up my crossbow and yea never die now. also have more skill points then i know what to do with, so put some sp into bows
