BF 2142 players?

I've played a few times during the week. Been on a busy schedule lately, but that should change after this weekend.

It's a pretty fun game, but as always, I hate the sprint function. You can run full speed for 20 feet, then it takes another 2 minutes to build it up again. I know people say you can upgrade it later on, but it's annoying as hell.

Especially when I'm running to kill the core and my sprint bombs out on me in the middle of the ship.

I've been playing it a lot too. I haven't had that problem either. I'm like a silver gunmen or something and it's my second day playing.

That being said: I've got almost all of the engy unlocked except AA missiles (I love my Pilum), got grenades and both sprint upgrades, and I'm just starting to work my way up to HMG (got the forcefield)

I can't fly for the life of me, but I enjoy being a gunner (except for the fact that my score is dependent on my pilot finding me bad guys). I love pretty much every vehicle.

Only thing is I wish there were more map variety, but hopefully that will come in time when the map editor is released. Also I love titan mode more than conquest at this point, it's just much easier to score on. For ranking up purposes, that's important.

Oh ya leading the charge on Camp Gilbrator is fun also, with both commanders' artys on you.

Exploiting into the titan core is fun also while the doors are still up.

what kind of computer specs you guys have that are playing it? im looking for a new fps game but my computer isnt all that badass though...i couldnt even run fear at all lol :( so maybe if i can run it, ill give it a try

my specs are...amd athlon 64 3200+ 2.35ghz, 512ram, geforce 7300 256mb

well i found that the minimum requirements it asks for are as follows...

1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

512 MB of RAM or more
128Mb Video card or more

no telling on how it actually performs though on a system with those requirements

so ya stupid questions:

How do you "revive" someone as an assualt person?

With the unlocks, since I want to go Assault, with 40 unlocks since it seems like there is only 14 unlocks per kit(including player abilities, doesnt that mean I could be almost all 2.5 kit worth or is there high unlocks that unlock further things in the kit that I cant see? not really understanding this and dont want to miss up a "build" per say.

Also is there a way to know if a server is marked as "ranked" or not?

tried to find various sites/guides to explain and learned a few things but nothing much, any good places to find info?

Went out and bought this game last night. I guess it's okay. I've played BF1942 and I think that I would actually prefer BF1942 over this, but oh well. My computer doesn't run it as good as I'd like but I guess it's alright. I suck really bad at it! :(

you have to have the defibulator thingy to revive people. i think its on the bottom right of the list for unlocks for assault.

when you're at the server list on the left of the server name it has all those icons, it will be ranked if there is a /\ looking icon, it signifies rank for military, thus being a ranked server, far as i can tell at least. if its not a ranked server i think it has that but with like a line through it or something

Ya, started figuring out a few things since playing a bit this weekend. Pretty close to getting rank 7 soon. Doing Assault as of now.

Still little lost on how the unlocks work, I read that it’s a tree type of system of where ya go from bottom to top. But with each kit it seems like there is only 13 unlocks including player abilities, which would be 8 for other kits(I’m assuming you don’t have to do player abilities 4 times), that would equal only 37 unlocks worth? With 3 left over im guessing If I wanted to use them for squad unlocks? Does that basically mean you be everything once your rank 40? Also can you mix match stuff, like have something from diff kits and playing with those items at once(Example: can I have the force shield while playing assault)? Probably once seeing a sample “build” of a rank 40 would probably explain this quite a bit heh.

what kind of comp specs you guys have that are playing it and how does it run?! i would like to get it but im not going to waste 50 dollars if it plays like shit

edit: i even dl'ed the demo but i got some error and it doesnt open so hopefully that wouldnt be a problem if i were to actually buy it :mad:

I got mine for $40 at circuit city on friday.

The computer I use to play it with is:

Athlon 3800 x2(not 2 processors x2)
7800 gti pro(with atleast 95% of the settings to max)
xi fatility plat sound card
2 gig of ram(very much needed for this game)

Game runs great but Im going to look at the tweaking atlittle for a few things.

honestly ya should be ok, might not be all eye and candy looking but should be able to play it, def should get some more ram though imo(atleast 1gig since xp likes to use a bit as is), helps alot with any game made nowadays.
