4 controllers plus Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64 and maybe Perfect Dark is all you need.

i've been tryin to get my hands on mario party for a while on ebay. auctions always end up around 20-30 bucks. out of my range for an n64 game =( i've got 3 controllers and lookin for a fourth to complete the set. mario kart also goes for about 20-30 bucks by the time auction ends. =\

don't put out mario party 1 unless you want to be replacing the controllers every week. all the games that require palming the stick and spinning it as fast as possible are pure hell on the controller

I would suggest Mario Party 3, because 2 sucked. You can pickup a controller for 10 bucks at EB or Gamestop, plus you can make sure you find the tightest control stick there.

The games really do go for that much, I'd look on amazon if you want to look to spend a little less, but really, 20 bucks is what you're going to be shelling out.

only problem is they all suck compared to the original.

Nothing like completely de_railing somebody with the original crane game.

Only thing that sucks is that the original mario party will completely rape your controllers since most games are analog rotation games, and the n64 controllers are horrid.

I remember when the first mario party came out, as you guys said its all rotating the joystick or whatever. I ripped up my palm cause i was playing it so much.

the eb games i buy my shit from has a ton of n64s that they use as door stops but they have ZERO controllers -- they are impossible to find

that's cause all the analog sticks are broken from countless hours of mario party, smash bros, and goldeneye, in that order.

The original mario party should be known as "The Destroyer of Controllers"

I mean shit.

Tug of War anyone?

Killer Instinct gold was right next to mario party as the ultimate controller killer.

Can you say nonstop 100 hit + orchid combos with (tiger?) and the flip kick.

Yeah, it's pretty much impossible to find a n64 controller that survived mario party. I know we had to have gone through over a dozen of them. Although I do remember one that my brother bought that had some type of metal analog stick. Even though it felt kinda tight, it didn't get destroyed by countless hours of mario party.

For the office? What kind of people do you work with? If you work with chicks, Mario Tennis/Kart is a must, and possibly Smash Bros.
