How does this game compare to WoW? WoW got boring for me and I have so00o much free time now, I find myself just watching TV or trolling forums.

It is actually quite different from WoW. Guild Wars has a story line, 3 different games (Prophecies / Factions / NightFall) Each with different story lines. Every game has the main professions Necromancer(Warlock kinda), Monk (Priest) Elementalist (Mage) Mesmer (Anti Tank / Spells (Degen?)) Warrior and Ranger. In factions and nightfall they added characters which are the Assassin (Rouge) Ritualist (Shadow Priest), Dervish (Earthen Warrior) and Paragon (Team Manager you can say).

Each has different armors, which range in price. Best armors are called 15k armor, which is really 60k-70k not counting all the pieces. 15k armor is just the "Prettier" version of cheaper armors. In my link above you can see 15k armor there. My favorite armor :D

You cannot actually make the armor, you have to bring the materials (which drop from monsters or you buy) and bring the money, and you buy from there. You really cannot make anything in Guild Wars, but you can add addons to your weapons and armors.

Also you can dye your amor/ weapons / bags COLORS! There are many different colored dyes, which 2 just came out. All the dyes are: Red, Green, Orange, Brown, Black, White, Purple, Yellow maybe one or two more that I cant think off the top of my head.

The only down fall for Guild Wars compared to WoW is that you only get to "Carry" 8 skill with you at one time. But the better thing is, Guild Wars is basicly one BIG instance.

If you want something different than WoW, but in some way the same concept, then get Guild Wars.

The main difference between GW and WoW is that WoW's timesinks net you better gear that will give you advantages in PvE/PvP. GW's timesinks are almost entirely aesthetic. There are tons of other differences but that's the important one. Pick your poison.

FoW armor was my biggest time sink.

It's actually FoW armor that is the 'best' although none of them matter and are any better than droknars (or whatver the other two are now in the other expansions).

I quit playing after about 300+ hours in GW. I got bored with it and didn't want to buy the expansions. I bought WoW and have had a lot more fun doing that. I enjoy the leveling and a bit of the grind. When I have spent about the same time playing my char in WoW (currently 52) and could have made 3 lvl 20 chars in GW, it says how much more engaging it is.

But anyway, do whichever style fits you better.

What? That's the biggest improvement GW makes over WoW. I guess if all you do is PvE it might seem bad... but if PvE is all you do GW is probably the wrong game.

The only reason I got through Nightfall was because it was fun and also put together by the team that did the first game. (GW has two dev teams, one did prophecies and nightfall, the other did factions and is working on chapter 4).

ingen [cow] and my guild [MB] are doing well this season

The enjoy the leveling process, it gives me something to shoot for. Once I get my 50th skill point it seems stupid. I just like the way that WoW does it better.

If you call spamming 1,2,1,2 ... lol. That's all i was ever asked to do. So boring PvP back then.

(Oh ya alot of people were big rage quitters in MB if i remember right.)

And then there was the R/W era. LOL Z!

Turned into IWAY. But anet has finially killed it in halls. :D

GvG is the only fun thing left it seems.

I've played both. Had a level 20 W/Mo with full 15k Glad Armor, Victos Axe, and Malinons Shield (was the best stuff back when I quit, dunno about now). Had all of the elite skills which weren't really that hard to do with a full team of henchmen. The upside for me was the no monthly payments, which I bought GW for. I farmed for 1-2 months, and got really bored with the game. I found it retarded to keep doing the quests when I wasn't leveling any longer.

This past summer I played WoW and found it to be an incredibly better game. I even found the PvP to be better which is supposedly GW's strongsuit.

I definitely like to do the quests, level my character, collect gear, and am not into the whole PvP scene, but I definitely liked WoW better.

Just my two cents.

WoW is a better game if you want to be rewarded for time played, and nothing else. It also has a deeper PvE game which seems to be what you're interested in.
