yeah, i got into the cpu lab today and was talkin to some of my collegues about em. Bunch of us (music majors, mind you) were talkin about one guy who skipped class yesterday to wait in line for his ps3, and he took 2 friends with him so he could have 3 and sell them off.

These things are going for crazy prices, and there have already been reports of problems ( go figure, first gen ps system, right? LoL ). The funny thing to note is how the big problem, as reported by ign, is actually the new games....

I read about the BB gun drive by that happened yesterday, dunno where it was at. I heard there was a fight in new york. And today i heard that a wal-mart somewhere got robbed at gunpoint.

i was out at best buy for 2 nights, 3 days. everyone there was civilized and such. I was the 2nd person in line. i skipped all my classes so i could make some money. 2 friends went with me and also bought systems. Was a fun atmosphere, although here on the east coast we had like a tropical storm which flooded our tent and the wind broke the rods. was a fun experience though.

my friend camped out at best buy since monday, and this morning when he was going home with his ps3, these guys in a car followed him basically 19 miles all the way to his house, cause they were gonna rob him...luckily he called the cops and drove around till they got to him

first boot up after he gets home, and he gets a read error on his disc......two deep breaths later he tried again and it worked fine and hes been on it pretty much all day

I was tempted to wait in line at Best Buy to sell it on ebay, but wasn't worth more than a day when stores only have around 10 each. Woulda been nice to have money to buy a Wii tho. Can't wait to see how pissed people get for paying $3,000 for a system that will probably be loaded wit glitches they won't have a service plan for.

Since I'm a former manager at Best Buy, I still have a few connections. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get hold of my contact to find out exactly how many they had on hand for release and had to go by what another less reliable friend told me.

Instead of camping like some idiots do, I stopped by at 6 AM like I did when I worked there, and I was 31st in line (which would've worked, given the number I was told). Our Best Buy was giving out tickets at 7, so I'd only wait in line an hour before finding out whether I was good or not. 7 AM rolls by and turns out, they only had 28 and not the 50+ that I was told by my two sources :( :rolleyes: . Oh well, I'll go home and get ready for work that I had to be at at 10AM (which is 5 min away from Best Buy if I'd have managed to HAVE to stay that long, which they don't do for these things).

But the story doesn't stop there.

Lunch rolls around, so I decide to head over to Best Buy and bullshit with the Media manager and see how the PSP and acc. numbers were, since most of the 28 people were going to horde them for eBay anyway. I tell him that I was in line and barely missed out and he tells me that they just "happened to get" 2 of the 20GB systems in and if I wanted it, grab one. So wtf, hell yeah. I didn't expect to do that, but it sure as hell made my day better.

But yeah, I'm planning on selling mine on eBay too, although I know the 20GB ones won't go for as much as the 60s will. But it's still money made, so I'm cool with that. It'll buy my wife's Christmas gifts. That's all that matters to me. :)

Oh yeah... and since I'm always one to buy the PRPs, I even got the damn thing for the eBayer since they're transferable because I care or some shit like that. Maybe it'll make the value go up. (fingers crossed) (worked for me on the XBox I got on release and those damn Thompson drives... it was nice getting the $300 voucher when the XBox was only $180).

i doubt you'll get any bidders with only 1 feedback. I suggest taking a higher quality picture and putting it on imageshack or something and also putting your ebay username on a piece of paper somewhere on the box.

my friend got his hands on six of these at a local cosco, using his gf dad and brother. All 60 gig, 3 on ebay already for over 2k. Just wow.

the market has gone down dramatically since yesterday. im pissed.

I dunno whether to go down with the market or take it off ebay until say 2 weeks before xmas. But if i do that i gotta hope that there are no other shipments before xmas. If i go that route im hoping the demand goes up cuz xmas is near. Its a big risk :\

Yeah, I've decided to keep an eye on the market and see when the bids start going up again. Right now, it's too saturated. Especially for just a 20GB like mine. I saw a "buy it now" for $750 go unanswered before it expired while others bidded $1,200 for others just like it. Doesn't make sense.

Of course the price is going to go down. Everyone and their mother is buying these to put on ebay. I saw a stat earlier where it said roughly 1 in 5 PS3's were being sold on ebay. It's simple economics, supply vs demand.

wow, the guy who won the auction tried to scam me and several others.. He actually ended up bidding on several other PS3 auctions and winning them and telling the seller to ship them to nigeria. This guy ended up getting like 7 bad feedbacks for today for his PS3 scamming...

so i had to put it back up on ebay and im having it run through the black friday weekend.
