Wii Classic Controller. It's for playing Virtual Console and Gamecube games. Gamecube controllers can be used in its place for most games.

I do not think the Classic controller will play Gamecube games. It will work on the Virtual Console as well as some Wii games.

He didn't say it would play Gamecube games. He said the Gamecube controller could probably take its place for virtual console games.

Wii, Red Steel, Zelda and Wii Sports are all awesome.

So the controls on Red Steel are good then? I had read a few things that had me worried about them.

Hopefully more will ship out this week, I want Zelda badly.

Same thing happened here. Went to the store with some roommates a bit after waking up thinking "oh I hear they are shipping plenty of these things, we will get one for sure"... well apparently thats not the case : /

rofl @ you 2.

I went to my friend's room to play his.

Ill say im impressed; i ALMOST wish i got one inspite of not caring much for the launch titles, but the wii is damn fun, i can say that.

I played some wii baseball, and won in the first inning by the mercy rule.... which was a good thing, cause i threw my arm out in the first inning, lol.

Then we played some SSBM (from gamecube), and as far as i could tell, it worked perfectly fine. No frame drops or anything, so i'd venture to say the backwards compatibility to gamecube is on-point.

And last, he showed me some Twilight Princess.

He had about 5 hours logged in, and was near the end of the first dungeon (actually, he coulda finished it about 20 minutes before hand, but he couldnt figure out a puzzle that took me 5 seconds to solve) and he showed me the boss fight.

Granted, the controller works exactly like i pictured it (no free range of movement for sword swinging; thank God), it still looked fun and innovative.

I still think im gunna get my copy of Twilight Princess on GC, cause im too lazy to swing the remote. :)

_________

All in all, if you're sketchy about the wii like i was, try it out. You'll be in for a humorous suprise. Who knows, you might even witness Jose Canseco punching Jesus in the nuts! >.<

Red Steel is really glitchy now that I've played more of it. The controls are pretty good for it though, and your wrists get tired from reloading and opening doors lol.

Reloading is such a pain in the ass for Red Steel, I agree.

Wii Sports bowling is really fun, wife and played it for awhile. Once she goes to bed it's Zelda:TP time. I need complete silence for that =)

Yeah me and my friend dominate tennis in Wii Sports.

For Zelda, make sure you turn it down. There are some really loud parts.

the first thing i thought when i saw the controller was carpal tunnel. Does the system include a warning or anything? Surely they must have considered the risks associated with kids waving the shit around for 12 hours a day.

Won't somebody please think of the children (yes, I'm preemptively mocking myself).

Yea, they should really put warnings on basketballs too, I mean shit they could pull something when playing with that damn bouncy ball!

(No, there's no warning. This isn't Virtual Boy.)

ROFL i remember the fucking warning sticker on the Virtual Boy.

I was thinking I couldnt play more than like 15 minutes without frying my retinas.
