I saw that on GT a few days ago. Pure speculations but it's still awesome.

I didn't get to play the gba titles, are they any good ?

I liked them, yes.

Ow, my fucking head hurt after that.

I've never put much thought into the LoZ story as a whole, I've just played most of the games, and I've heard of people's theory of the story. (read: All except Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and LoZ2.. and the terrible one on Phillips CD-I, but that one dont count.)

But dear god, my head hurts.

I like how ALL of the Zeldas are included though, including Oracle of Ages and Seasons. That kinda makes me want to go back and play them in reverse order, cause I played Ages and then Seasons (using my Ages password in Seasons), so i didnt know they BOTH started the exact same way.

That's just sick.

I didn't get to play the gba titles, are they any good ?

By GBA titles, i'll assume you actually mean GB titles, which would be Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, AND Minish Cap (cause Minish Cap is the only GBA game)

They're all good. However; Minish Cap is ridiculously short. It only had 4 dungeons.

Oracle of Ages/Seasons (like the video says) were released at the same time, and when you finish one, you get a password that you can enter in the second one to play the "continued quest" - i guess you would call it. The point of that is so when you get to the end of the 2nd game, you get to go through and fight the final boss of both games. Like the "super boss" if you will.

All in all, if you like LoZ, and you havent played these, hop on it. They're not too hard to find in stores, and i know the GB games are under 20 bucks. maybe 15. (or they should be), I dunno about Minish Cap, since I got got mine the day came out.

___________

I do know that, even though I want Twilight Princess, i've actually been waiting for Phantom Hourglass since they announced it at e3, and i'm pissed that it got pushed back to last year. ....... I just like the innovation that's come from the DS.

i forgot, i never played Links Awakening DX, but i've yet to hear anybody say that secret dungeon was worth it. D:

Great video, loved the theory. Can't wait to play TP and see if it holds up. If it is true well then I wonder if they'll ever try to reconnect to two somewhere down the line.

great series and theory about the world of hyrule. one thing that annoyed me was in video 5, they said link has his first stealth experience, which is far from true. in ocarina of time you have to sneak into the castle past all of the guards.

Normally, when I watch a video on the internet, i feel like i lose braincells, but I just watched that whole series, and I feel like i've learned monumental (although kind-of trivial D: )

yeah, you had to sneak in the palace to get in the guards, and you also had to sneak away from the thieves in gerudo valley on the way to the .... Spirit Temple I think it was (whatever one was in the desert, the one nobody ever cares about :/ )

you've got to be kidding me right...koume and kotake are the funnest, best bosses in the game, and that temple is fuckign sweet. Shadow temple is the god damn worse, btw anyone notice a resembelance between bongo bongo(shadow temple boss)

and i think the last boss, andross from starfox 64?

I've played and loved every Zelda game with the exception of the Gameboy stuff and TP. It really is a series that remains fun on every system despite the current technology.

P.S. That Philips shit doesn't count.

Shadow temple is the god damn worse

In the words of Blix "are.. are you dumb?" The Shadow Temple was a godsend compared to the Water Temple, it was the most horrid designed Zelda temple ever. They even agreed with that in that OoT video. Water Temple can drive a man insane.

Dogysamich
November 22nd, 2006, 11:55 PM
I actually liked the Water Temple for one reason and one reason only.

When you walk into that room, and you see everything disappear, and then you see him.

Dark Link.

I actually remember that more than I remember the water level brain teaser.

the water temple is the worst soleley because you can mess up there, and have to start you're whole game over.

the part where the middle silo type thing with the 2nd water drain control notes. If you dont swim down and grab the key from udner the dock that floats up then you are screwed and have to start the whole game over.

it happened to me when i was playing the master quest and i was so angry i havent played it since

ps. Morpha is a very fun boss to beat

and dark link is also fun

I never did the Master Quest thing for the GameCube so I don't know if it's any different, but I remember in the original N64 version you didn't have to start the game over if you forgot that key. It took some fucking around (A LOT of fucking around), but you could make your way back.

And yeah, that room underneath the plank that rises in the central room is the biggest crock of shit ever. The worst part is that the fucking cutscene that plays as you raise the water level shows you the opening.

Overall, I didn't think the Water Temple was that bad though. Other than that 1 part which took me a while to figure out, it wasn't much more difficult than the others.

As far as tedium goes, the Earth Temple in Windwaker was the worst I think. The amount of backtracking and trivial little things you have to figure out is pretty goddamn ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that you're constantly having to fuck around with your inventory and having to play the Command Melody in every other room. Fortunately Makar is one of the coolest characters in any game ever, so that kind of helps move it along. Seriously, a tiny tree that waddles really fast, jingles when he moves around, yells in a high-pitched voice, and plays the fiddle. What more could you possibly ask for?

I didn't think it was that bad, and yeah, Makar is awesome as hell in a creepy Japanese tree-thingy way.

I really liked the Shadow Temple, and had the most difficult boss of the game. Bongo Bongo was a bitch at times, trying to use that dumb Lens of Truth and hitting his hands with your bow at the same time.

I didn't like the Water Temple at all, either, and I hated King Jabu's Belly (I think that's what it was called). Carrying around that bitch pissed me off when she'd throw a tantrum and go back to where you first meet her.

I thought the best dungeons in OoT were the Spirit and Fire Temples.

Did anyone else notice that when they were talking about OoT they described the sun as rising when you first enter Hyrule Field yet it's actually setting?

Yes, I'm that much of a nerd when it comes to these games.

Right now TP is on pause as I move my way through all the Zelda games again just because I'm such a damn Zelda nerd and this video sparked my interest to revisit a few of those dungeons. That bonus disc for the Gamecube is great since it has Zelda 1-2 on it so I don't need to pull out the ghetto ass Nintendo system from 1989.

The skulltulas are pretty easy once you realize the map tells you if you got them all in an area. Plus, they are mostly at night.

The one thing i hated about OoT is having to unlock the Shadow Temple as a kid, and then go through it as an adult.

*mini OoA spoiler*
Cause I wondered why couldnt it be that simple in Oracle of Ages when you had to unlock (i think the) 5th dungeon in both the past AND the present.

I thought i was a genius cause i was like "if i unlock this in the past itll be unlocked in the present right? Nobody's gunna come behind this waterfall and lock the door over time right? WRONG!

had me boggled for 2 days.
