The Wii number is no good without your console's nickname as well. I found that you need both in order for your Miis to move around and transfer messages.

I don't think you need the name of the console. I've had no problems adding friends with just the Wii number.

Penny Arcade has an extensive list of just Wii numbers along with the forum poster's name.

The key is that both of you must add eachother in order to communicate.

I can't get my wireless to connect.

It works for both my laptop and my roommates so I don't think that's the problem. The Wii should be able to just connect right? GDI.

Still can't get wireless but now there is a LAN cable stretched across my living room.
