k, so I posted another thread, but I've been messing around with this site for a couple weeks and it looks like it's working good. You can stream or download the videos there. I think it might be a good central place to put the avis.

their tech support just fixed the problem for me and my xvid south park ep just finished :D

prob works for all xvids now.

EDIT: NIIIICE I uploaded it private and it doesn't show up anywhere without me logging in, but I can still embed it in my myspace. This site is sick

EDIT2: Fucking download links don't work in myspace..I think myspace disables popups in flash. Whenever i click save in myspace it adds "allowNetworking="internal" enableJSURL="false"" to my embed code. WTF

Edit: uploaded hopspam.avi and it seems to work fine except for a couple spots it skipped, but i didn't try downloading it so i don't know if it's actually broken :x

an important note (demon you might wanna edit the original post to mention this)

when you're tagging your movie before uploading, each tag goes in a seperate box
if you try to list tags seperated by commas, it will put it all as one tag.

example: the tag for the potw avi at http://www.1dawg.com/video?m=t150vxxb7rgp is
"potw, tfc, tfc, team fortress classic, play of the week, 47" <- that's the tag, so it won't show up if you search for tfc or team fortress classic :(

when you're uploading, click the "add tags" text under the tag box to enter additional tags, and make sure tfc is in its own box so it'll show up.

I've been looking into this choppy issue and it seems that only my fast computer (2.4ghz, 2gb ram) can render those flvs at 30fps..my 2nd machine on the kvm (1.2ghz, 768mbs ram) plays choppy unless I have all other programs idle.

I think thats gonna be the drawback to the quality diff..I heard youtube renders their movies at 15 fps and thats why it's such horrible quality, yet plays smoothly across all machines.

nah dude i wouldn't flame the 1sec avis, this 1dawg site should be a place where people could put little short avi clips like that and not worry about getting harassed for not making a whole avi.
i've got a bunch of short one-play clips without sound or anything that i might put on there because it's unlikely they're going to be seen anywhere else :)

and oh, i tried uploading grand finale while i was at class today, but got the login screen error.
i have a theory about why they don't work though... if it isn't an issue with the actual file i'm trying to upload, i think it might be because my computer gets bogged down doing other stuff during the upload process and that screws something up so it doesn't upload properly.
i'll give it another try later and see if i'm right, cause when i tried uploading thismorning my antivirus was scanning, so i'll see if it goes through when nothing else is happening.

Ok guys I just took the initiative to contact them regarding the tag issue. They fixed it and also made it so if you do accidentally separate them w/ commas it'll auto-fix it for u. kinda nice :)

I just uploaded a file and it gave me the option to make the mp3 available. I guess this means the audio track? might be good for music videos, but i don't get the purpose for other videos. donno if it's taking effect on videos that have already been posted, but i guess thats kinda cool. skillout has a good song in it

and consequently have narrowed down the issue a bit...
i used ie to upload this time, instead of firefox, so that might have been it.
alternatively, i opened another window and used it to log out and then log back in as the upload neared completion, based on the theory that the cookies might be timing out before the upload finishes, causing it to fail.
i'll let you guys know when i've got more conclusive test results ;o

EDIT:
i figured out the upload problem, i think!
i uploaded another avi using ie but without re-logging in, and it failed. ended up back at the login screen.
apparently the cookies are timing out before the uploads complete! if you talk to the 1dawg staff again demon you might wanna ask about that :)
i'll upload some more avis later, and let you know if it turns out i'm wrong :x

as i mentioned earlier, i need to free up the drive space so i was looking for anyplace to upload avis so i could delete them. since there wasn't any other viable option, 1dawg is currently my destination of choice.
has fortresspimp dealt with their 5mb upload cap issue?
