Sorry if this isnt the correct forum;

Anyways, I have an ipod nano, which has roughly about 300 songs on it. But i've reformatted my computer/got a new one also, so If i install my ipod in, itunes will delete everything on it.

My question is, is there a program that will copy all the songs on the ipod so i can save them on my computer? If this is easy, i'm sorry.. I don't experiment with this stuff often.

Thanks for any information!

i havent heard it was possible, but if it is, id like to know.
I'm pretty sure it isnt though.
set your itunes preferences for the ipod to [checkmark] Manage all songs manually.

yeah its possible and not that hard if i remember right...

someone did it for me and i think all they did was go into the ipod's hard drive directory, hit show hidden files, then the songs are in hidden folders broken up into smaller directories. the file names arent right, but i think if you copy those files and load them into your new itunes, the names will at least show up in itunes, though they wont have the correct file names.

not positive thats how it was done, but im reasonably sure.

http://www.yamipod.com/ (free)

Or search for Copy-Pod (not free, but in my opinion is better)

Both will remove music from your ipod and allow you to save them on your harddrive.
