I've decided I'm going to buy a Mac laptop because I already own a PC, so why not get the best of both worlds (plus all the computers used for editing at my school are macs). I don't know anything about macs though, and really have no clue what to look for. The only one I seem to be able to find on their site is the MacBook, which is in my price range. According to them it's the best they have to offer, but like I said, I don't know shit about them. Maybe you guys do?

There's the Macbook and the Macbook Pro. The difference is basically a 13" screen versus a 15/17", a better video card, and a little better processor. The price gap is pretty big though. We're talking around $1,000.
If you have the money buy the macbook pro, if you don't buy the regular macbook.
You won't regret going to Mac. OS X has so many great programs.

This is basically it; if you want a Mac laptop it's one or the other, and the Pro will run you around $1800 while a basic Macbook will be closer to $1200.
You're right that Macs are very useful for editing, but if you're not buying one because you specifically need it to do something you should also have a look at similar PC setups. With Apples you pay a premium for a trendy name, and though they're not bad laptops by any stretch, you can usually put together a windows system with better specs for fewer bucks.
