Other than the obvious wear-and-tear on Corgan's voice over the years, this song is good...probably their best single since the Mellon Collie era. I'm very, very pleased, and I'm officially pumped for the new album.

AND THERES MORE THAN ONE GUITAR SOLO

Cool...but...I'm pretty sure you should not have posted that link.

shrug, that same link to the song has been up on the main SP fan site since this afternoon and hasn't bee removed as of yet (which usually happens fairly quickly at the order of the band) which leads me to believe all is good. With that said, I'd understand if admins here felt obliged to remove the link.

They also announced a ton of tour dates. I'm hoping to go to the Asheville, NC show on June 30th.

It doesn't sound bad, but it's not knock-you-off-your-feet by any means. If this is the best song they could put out, I probably won't buy the album unless they have other singles that are a little better.

I think they'll have limited success with it, but it's just not catchy enough to be a major single and go 5x platinum or anything.

Judging from past releases, I highly doubt this is the best song on the album. With a few glaring exceptions (1979, Tonight, Cherub Rock), the Pumpkins singles have always been middle-of-the-road in terms of quality.

They just finished playing their first show in Paris a few minutes ago. Here's a set list for those of you that plan on seeing them during their upcoming tour.

This is the first time they've played songs off the new album live, so it's possible they aren't named correctly.

2. Today
3. Stand Inside Your Love
4. Orchid (?)
5. Doomsday Clock (?)
6. Home
7. Hummer
8. Starz (?)
9. Tarantula
10. Bullet With Butterfly Wings
11. Gossamer

Set 2 (acoustic):

12. For God and Country (?)
13. 33
14. Rocket
15. Winterlong
16. To Sheila

Set 3 (electric):

17. Glass and the Ghost Children
18. Cherub Rock
19. 1979
20. Piano Interlude - no further details
21. Tonight
22. Neverlost (?)
23. Disarm
24. That's the Way (?)
25. Zero
26. Untitled

First Encore:

27. Shame
28. Silverfuck -> The End (Doors cover)

Second Encore:

30. Muzzle

Total Time - ~3 Hours

That's one hell of a set list, wish I could have gone.

Some youtube videos of the show:

Winterlong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12o5GDwF3Hk&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Enetphoria%2Eorg%2Fshowt hread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D140897%26page%3D2%26pp%3D30)
For God and Country (New Song) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0qp94wN980)
United States Intro (New Song) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaRAmI9P3RY)

In addition to these, there's some other shitty videos circulating now on youtube and various other websites; these are the best you'll be able to find for the next day or two.

According to many of those in attendance, United States was among the best songs they played. Apparently it was the heaviest and the intro clip seems to back that up...I can't wait to hear the album version.

A few people in the front row (the same responsible for the Winterlong video) supposedly recorded the majority of the show's audio in pretty good quality and captured a few other short video clips of various songs (Tarantula, Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Silverfuck, Thirty Three, Muzzle). None of this has been put online as of yet, but should be up within the next few days. I'll edit this post when I have a working link.

Oh, and heres a picture.

the lack of whining pleases me.
