thats a pretty fucked up publicity stunt tho... thats all we need are car bombs going off now.
i also heard on the radio that if you have your old WWE/WWF ticket stubs you can send them to the WWE and they'll send you some of Vinces money... dont know if anyone else has heard that one yet? cant be real anyways

Despite articles on the wrestling federation’s Web site that firefighters and federal agents are investigating, workers at the Luzerne County 911 Center confirmed that it was “a stunt” and that no emergency vehicles were called to the arena on Monday night.
But fans from across the country have been contacting local media to confirm reports that McMahon, the chairman of the board of WWE, was blown up in a fiery limo-bombing on his very own “Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night,” which was televised on USA Network. McMahon had walked out of the building to the waiting vehicle, so fans inside the arena saw the same televised live scene.
Only it was wasn’t live. Supervised by Zenith Pyrotechnology, based in Deer Park, N.Y., the explosion was actually filmed at the arena late Saturday night, the footage of the burning hulk taped Sunday night and the whole mess spliced together, said Andy Kratz, the township’s zoning officer.
“They did it, I believe, at 11 o’clock at night until 3 a.m. so no one would be around,” he said, adding that it was done in a section generally blocked from public view by the building and surrounding land features.
The pyrotechnics company had to get permits, which Kratz said they did about a week ago. “We have pyrotechnics shows in the arena all the time” for wrestling and ice skating, among other things, he said. “They say they do this quite a bit,” but usually not outside.

On the flip side, when Owen fell from the ceiling during his accident, many people thought it was a stunt and was just part of the show. Same thing with Eddie Guerrero. Many thought his death was just a stupid storyline (there have been worse - Triple H fucking a corpse) and some still believe it still is since they kept bringing his wife out and using his name to further the feud.
In the world of professional wrestling - err, sports entertainment - it's fake until the real news stations pick up on it. (actually, that's even only half true too)
Also, these days in Vince's world, everything must be a brilliant idea. Glad I don't watch anymore.

Not a wrestling fan anymore, but the videos were pretty cheesy to watch.
If you look at the stupid smirk on his face while he walks out of the arena..dead give away. As much of a big mouth Vince is, you would think he'd say something to all those people on his way out. Not only that, but when he got in the car...it sure did take him long enough to get in. And hmmm, the angle the car was parked you couldn't see the other door? How corny would it be to have a string attached to the door he entered from leading to the other side to slam shut while he's safely away. gaygaygay
Wrestling ain't been wrestling since the 90's... :(

I watched when it was all about The Rock, Stone Cold, Foley, DX, Kurt Angle, Y2J, Edge & Christian/Dudley Boys/Hardy Boys/2Cool + Rikishi. Those were the glory days :\
Now I only watch once in awhile...there are still a few actual entertaining guys left (HBK, Undertaker, Benoit), but it's nothing like what it used to be.

I'm surprised they even did this. It in such bad taste to even consider doing a storyline like that. I was reading they are dropping the storyline though due to the ex-female wrestler Sensational Sherri dying.

My math professor was going off on one of his random tangents the other day:
"I've only taught one person that ended up being famous. Well, most of you probably wouldn't know who he is, he's very faded now. In fact, only once did someone recognize him enough to get as much as a chuckle, so I'm pretty sure none of you are familiar with him."
Several times he goes off on tangents about old movies or old politicians that we don't care about, so I didn't expect anything, especially when he was downplaying it.
"His name was...Randy Savage."
I started laughing. My math professor taught the Macho Man. I think only one other person in the room knew who that was.
Wrestling was great a long time ago, that was about it.

usually it's Vince/Triple H/Stephanie who decides who gets a "push", which means the wrestler is going to win his matches. Right now CM Punk is getting a "push" in ECW, as he's fighting Chris Benoit this sunday for the vacated belt. They usually decide on who gets to win by crowd reaction or however much Vince and Co. like the wrestler they're putting out there.

All you people making greatest of all time lists and not including Mr. Perfect - Curt Henning are so way off :P Mr. Perfect is probably top 5 all time for wrestling gimmick, mic work, in ring performance, charisma. Mr. Perfect was years ahead of the curve when it came to where the business was going, he was a true pioneer of why mic work made a wrestler combined with outsanding work ethic. Ric Flair is the only other person I'd say that was better.

Hennig was great. I've watched him since his AWA days and I just knew he was going places. I would've loved to have seen WCW run with him as a real Horsemen member. He also should've gotten a shot at the WWF title run, but Hogan was on Vince's nuts at that point (both he and Ted Dibiase should've gotten a good run). Sad that he passed so soon.

Most people don't mind jobbing, a term for losing, if it's good for business. If you're being put out there to job every time to someone then it means you need to shape up, possibly repackage your gimmick, and step up your in-ring work. Or you could be Triple H and use your backstage stroke with Vince and you'll have a 3 year title reign. Such is WWE politics.
My top 10 wrestlers ever:
10. Hulk Hogan
9. Undertaker
8. Stone Cold Steve Austin
7. Bret Hart
6. Bryan Danielson
5. CM Punk
4. Sting
3. The Rock
2. Kurt Angle
1. Shawn Michaels
my #1 is pretty biased, as I grew up a huge HBK fan. But everything on that list takes into consideration: workrate, charisma, and gimmick. I would've put Bryan Danielson higher as he's "the best in the world" but he has no mic skills sadly.
