This will probably push FF into a release date, too.

I fucking hope so.

Wouldn't count on it, FF team has always been rather adamant about saying "It will be done when it's done".

Direhit would know nothing about that :)

Especially if they aren't getting paid...

I'm aware, in fact I'm not really saying it as a negative, I'm just stating that's how it is heh. Some people don't like it, but you can understand it.

I was just augmenting your statement to the general audience.

For anyone who doesn't remember or wasn't around, TF2 won best multiplayer game award at E3 in '99 and was almost guaranteed to be released in 2000. Two fruitless years later, TF2 claimed third on wired.com's annual vaporware list in 2002 (http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/news/2003/01/57023?currentPage=2), and now in 2007 we're still awaiting this game.

TF2: Brotherhood of Arms and this TF2 are completely different games on two completely different game engines. Grouping them together saying "this game" is far from accurate. Clearly this version of TF2 is nearly done and is on it's way to us.

this version would be done if valve hadn't decided "lets make it on all kinds of platforms" so again like direhit said two different times and games, with episode 2 coming as a package deal I don't think valve is blowing this one off nor the effort and time that they have put in which is a hell of a lot more than what brotherhood in arms looked like back in 2k.

My whole take on this is just by xmas or im moving onto and into a more "fresh" fps clan scene something to have some fun with and shoot ppl up.

What a strange threat. Move to UT if a game isn't out? I really don't get it.

not a threat, just simply saying im not gonna wait more than this year for something that should have been done long ago. UT3 along with many other muilti player games will be out by xmas this year why sit and wait for valve or anyone and pass up on some good play time. Not saying if it ever comes out I wouldn't pick it up cause I'm sure I will just looking forward to more than 1 game and im not holding my breath on any TF game or mod we seem to always see the "extended" release dates.

Just note that valve has never made an announced release date in the history of ever, and in fact the only game to ever be delayed as long as TF2 is Duke Nukem Forever.

I've quit wondering about any announced game. When I can play it, it's a game, until then it's speculation.
