I signed on to myspace today for some reason and saw that August Burns Red had posted, in one of their three daily bulletins, about their new album available for full stream here:

I'm not sure what I think. They apparently have a new frontman and he sounds like the old guy. But thats the problem, this entire album seems like a re-hashed Thrill Seeker. No new elements at all, in fact it sounds like they just copied and pasted the same riffs, progressions and breakdowns.
I'm pretty disappointed, don't think I'll be buying this one, maybe worth a download for Thrill Seeker 2.

WHY!!!!!!? Mediocore.....oppps I mean Metalcore is soooo boring. Not one song has been memorable. Its almost like they wanted to be ordinary. Just another Metalcore album that'll be forgotten in a few weeks imo. Don't waste you're time listening unless you are a fan of August Burns Red, over-used breakdowns, and/or bad music in general.

I wouldn't put it like that exactly but yeah, music like this puts me to sleep

Varuker your shit is too hard for me, I can't deal with psyopus at this point in my life .
And I wish I could find more than one Acacia Strain song I liked (besides 'smoke ya later').
I think I'm growing out of metalcore, it is boring. The only albums I'm still clutching to are the new All That Remains and the old August Burns Red.
I'm also disappointed that Dark Tranquillity sold out and did the in flames core shit with their new album :(
If Kalmah sells out I'll die inside.

LOL, I wouldn't recommend psyopus to anyone...at least I don't think I have. But yeah, I wouldn't exactly put the stuff I listen to as tolerable hehe.

yeah it's just okay.
I liked it at first...thought it was really solid. Then I got bored real quick.
instantly went back to new number 12 cd...it's such sick jazz grind or whatever you would classify it as.
august burns red brings nothing new to messangers..

Word. I can't get enough of the new Number 12 haha. This is like the most I've ever liked them since I magically found "Bambi The Hooker And A Case Of Beer" on hxcmp3.com

First off, yeah i love ABR...
kk.. i have to agree with the new album being like the old one
although for some reason i felt Thrill Seeker had some better riffs
and the new album - like the beginning of The Truth of a Liar -
that scream - Uhh.. not a big fan
i like the frontman's regular voice better (idk who does that scream)
i like Thrill Seeker as a whole where i skip over a few songs in Messengers
despite whatever, it does have perks
i'm kind of in the middle right now i think it needs more listening
i've seen them live and that just makes me like them 10x more
and i didn't really want to see them change cuz i liked them
in Thrill Seeker, so that's a plus imo
better than them becoming something they aren't
i do think Messengers had too much hype
a few of the songs mesh into each other also
like i listened to a song on repeat or something
=)

Yea the beginning of Truth of a Liar has a Killswitch Engage scream or something haha
I'm glad they didn't change too much but I would've liked something new.
I saw them live at their hometown, it was pretty sick. My only complaint was the four halfassed bands that came on before them blew my ear drums out before ABR even played. Where's a good place to get ear plugs cheap?
God Thrill Seeker made me want to break necks every time I listened to it, I was hoping for a glimpse of that with Messengers.
I'll continue to give this more listening time.
