Though it was released in early April, I hadn't gotten to this CD until the past week or so, and I must say that it kicks the ass. One of my favorite CDs of the year, the opening 5 tracks are as good as it gets for this type of music, and the slow tracks don't seem forced like they can feel on other records.

Have these guys put out other stuff? Any suggestions from people who are feeling this album? I'm coming down the home stretch of my new CD reservoir.

Aaron Gillespie is sick. The album was mostly pieced together by himself (lyrics and instruments) then he found a few members who could play each instrument through the drum tech for underoath. If you ever have a chance check out an interview of Aaron... for a guy that performs in underoath, he is a laid back guy. Hell watch or read any interview from anyone from underoath they are really chill, not what you would necessary expect.

Anyway, I agree the album is really good, given he did it inbetween recording an album for underoath and touring and what have you.

I'm not sure what I could recommend to you besides his other band (underoath). I could help w/ some tracks if you haven't heard much from them.

Left side has some similar artist but none seem too close to "Southern Weather"

Dude, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster fucking own. Southern Rock/Hardcore ftw! But yeah, all the music is made by *cough* Underoath's front man (I think), so I wouldn't be expecting something like Maylene.

great band and a great guy. I had the wonderful opportunity to go to their first concert ever back in december and it was incredible, Aaron can perform as a frontman just as well as he can behind the kit.

Great band, this album has constnatly been playing the last few months, definitely would recommend to anyone

Maylene and TSOD rock live. They are so sweet :D

As far as I know Southern Weather is The Almost's only release
and for people that sound like them - idk if you would look into
underoath because they scream and in Southern Weather.. well...they don't...
if you look into anything of underoath i would listen to their album
"They're Only Chasing Safety" because Aaron is a lot of the vocals
whereas their newer stuff and older stuff he isn't nearly as prominent

Anyways... ummmm....
no one can really match up to aaron's voice =X
i dunno maybe look into; saosin or bayside??

you won't find anything exactly like it... and
i don't listen to too much that sounds like them :/ sry
but when i got this album it was being played non-stop
just look around you'll find stuff
www.purevolume.com might be a good start or myspace

oh sweet, i'm not his only male fan! although there seem to be a lot of the same hooks in his music as dashboard, but i think he's definitely talented.

i already knew about sons of disaster, but not maylene. any more?
