It's the demo recording which isn't smooth, no? There's at least a workaround for that..

Wouldn't you expect a professionally produced game to look better then a community driven mod? In the end, graphics shouldn't mean all that much as long as the gameplay is solid.

Whats wrong the demo recording or playback in source? I personally have tons of source demos in which there is no difference from my hl1 demos. There are tons of css avis out as well which all have an impressive quality. Why couldn't this be done in tf2?

tf2 looks amazing, i just cant stand the muzzle flash. it's so cheesy and out of place graphically imho :\

i completely agree car, i recognize what they were trying to do with the simple cartoon animation, but you especially notice it on the hwguys weapon, and it definitely seems out of place.

Not going to lie and say it looks bad... However I do not like it. The muzzle flash does not seem out of place to me.

it goes along with the whole cartoon motif, but i think they could've done a way better job in making it look kickass like the pyro's fire. it's just a big, flat, ugly thing. even tfc's is somewhat 3-d :[
