release date for tf2

Just saw a video that said TF2 was coming in the Orange Box and it would be out October 9th.

Anybody else seen/heard this? I saw it on g4tv.

I visit another website run by a guy named Chet who is involved with both Portal and TF2, he has mentioned recently that Oct 9 is a solid date and will almost certainly not be postponed again.

I had better not have to pay $50 for the orange box when I already own HL2 and Episode 1... Anybody know if that's the case? Or will I be able to buy them individually?

You should be able to at least a package with just TF2/Portal/Ep2 through steam. The only brick-and-mortal retail version will be the Orange Box (Hl2, Ep1, Ep2, TF2, Portal).
