Person has brightness up too high but you can see some of the menu's, comms, etc.

PSA: These are in german. So hopefully someone who's fluent in german can do something with these.

Things you can see:
Sniper dot is teamcolored. (Man did I want that in TFC.)
Didn't see the tester being able to fire the sniper rifle without being scoped.
Smoke is teamcolored (spefically, demoman pipes and rockets from soldiers is visible.)
Map is called "cp_granary"
Soldier RPG has four rockets. Reloading and fire rates faster than TFC. Rockets themselves distinctly HL1 like in character. (That is, press the fire button, pause, rocket fires then accelerates to target)
Health, metal, (ammo?) seems to be given to players as Q3/UT-style pickups, Couldn't tell whether they were persistent or not.
Shotgun seems to behave like UT flak cannon.
Unknown if shooting your own team's spy does any damage. Might have just had friendly fire off.
Critical hit? That shoveling of the heavy and the soldier that spurted the green stuff may have been the signal of a critical hit.
Building is accomplished by engineers having a build PDA in slot four. I'm assuming slot 5 is detting for buildables. There's also a pre-placement overlay before the buildable is actually built.
Monitoring of buildables is on the upper left corner of the HUD.
Shotgun that soldiers and engineers have - six shots a clip.
Engineer railgun has been replaced by a rapid fire pistol, twelve shots a clip and fires nails (to make an analogy to TFC).

Timed respawns similiar to q3 Urban Terror.

2 formats. You have to wait a preset amount of time determined by map. Or everone respawns together after a set time (every 20 seconds) by map as well. The later is known as a wave respawn.

Well that's interesting then. You get criticals from melee kills. Better than just dumb luck imho.

not true, the sniper gets them from headshots

from what i can tell, everything metal cost is still the same (130 for sg, 125 for tele)

still no footage of the pyro or medic yet

i got pretty wet seeing how fast you can shoot your shotgun now.

You could defintly tell some of the HW's were very new to TF series, also i didnt see any meds heal+linkuping. I guess valve didn't want the testers to showcase something that has already been shown.

Gotta wait till they release more vids.

does anyone else think this game looks really dumb?

-what is the point of scouts without being able to bunnyhop or conc? Shoot at people with a shotgun???

-Looks like solly has to fire all 4 rockets before reloading.

-no tranq for spy...

-game is going to be like team fortress deathmatch crashed into looney toones land.

So a little clarification, scout gets double shotgun, others get standard shotgun.

There is no armor in the game, however previous balances of tfc was just converted all to HP.

Demoman is basically the new soldier.

Critical shots are aqquired from melee kills/kill streaks or headshots (sniper rifle).

Engineer has basically become the best class in TF2. No more sitting waiting to build, infinite ammo/health dispenser. Teleporters.

Heavy will require medic linked up in order to survive.

Invulneralbility will be abused (by me especially).

I'm guessing you have to switch to PDA/Ciggarette box to activate said devices/disguises. No more disguise_enemy 3 quick binds? (It will still be possible to setup a script to switch to weapon and slot4;slot3,slot2 type of script).

Medic is now a staple for both defense and offense.

Pyro is no longer a sniper killer and no a HW killer.

Sniper + aimbots will break this game, actually not even with the aimbot.

TF2 won't have sabertaging. :(

I disagree with this. Pyros will be pretty good defenders, especially in narrow corridors. It says one of the abilities of the pyro is to be able to shoot people around corners.

I disagree. He's beefed up a little bit since there aren't any nades(which is how i die 90% of the time), but he's still a low health guy who now doesn't have emps. I think sentries might be easier to take out than you think.

The health ray does not look like it's an instant 100% health shot like in tfc, but a gradual pickup sort of like an hev station in half-life.

That addition really isn't THAT cool. It'll be hard to pull off unless the engineer is rogue and nowhere to be found. Spies are way too powerful in ff anyway. I mean, you can knife people and stay disguised (allegedly)? That's just ridiculous.

Aimbots break any game. Also, snipers are not THAT powerful. They are just actually useful now, but mostly on push or attack/defend style maps I'd say, which appears to be the staple for tf2, and in ADL snipers are used pretty often already.

What i meant by demo is, now it looks like you can shoot at any angle with sticky pipes and re-det almost instantly from what it seems.

But we'll have to wait and see.

I don't think invisibilty will be too powerful if you can see the blur, and if you cant then it is overpowered. Really hard to perfect the invisibilty thing in games (especially in a TF game where randoms shots/explosions will be happening all around you to give you away from blood sprites.)

UNLESS... if you go invisble in front of a sg and are undisguised the sg wont shoot you while still being able to throw sapper charges, then spy will be the true sg killer. Demoman probly best second. I hope sapper charges can be used as like a melle only halo sticky grenade.

Meaning: You can stick them to players you are looking at a few feet away, and any buildables you happen to be looking at, but not thrown randomly on the ground. So basically tiny detpacks witha few restrictions. =^)


Have they said if the melle weapons will do differnt damages for each class?

Its definitely sprites, but they might have a soft particles shader- so when they're hitting geometry you don't see that hard akward clipping against surfaces.

jimyD has to make a comment about everything, you haven't played tf2 nor FF so please stop making these extrapolations. your tfc knowledge is par at best and its funny to see you post in this forum saying how much tf2 will blow ff out of the water then you make a thread 'when do i get to play'.

Aparently you didn't get the joke of the thread I made in ff forums, and yes I do need to comment about everything... gotta keep these forums alive.

And yes TF2 will blow FF out of the water playerbase wise if FF doesn't release soon, it's just blantently obvious. Also the fact that as time has progressed, it seems the FF forums are being put more and more into the dark. However this could mean they are releasing soon, best wishes.

It's not like im trying to figure out weapon percentage damage values and stuff, only things we have seen in videos. We have a pretty good idea how TF2 is gonna be played, and definetly know how FF is gonna play. Don't bother reading if you don't want to read it.

Spies appear completely invisible to the other team. That part I know for a fact. I'm also pretty sure that spies cannot fire a weapon while invisible (either that or it breaks your invisibility).

Another thing that I'm not sure if it's been said here... When a spy is disguised his teammates see him wearing a funny looking mask of whatever class he is while enemies will actually see him as that class.

Scout looks like a fairly easy class to play, I do like me some shotgun. Really tough to tell from how it will play since everyone seems to miss so much in the videos and the videos gave me a headache.
