Anyone know if there is one and if so what is it? I think a 10 second respawn would be better compared to 20. Can't seem to find anything listed on hlsw.

i cant either.

nothing in any of the configs. im seriously wondering if its a map setting.....

I could have sworn while I was playing, the respawn time when from 20 to nothing. It was late though, and I guess it could have been a map change.

i think 10 seconds would be a lot better too. still a shit ton of fun though

The timer adjusts based on how well your team is doing. The better your team is doing the shorter the timer. There are several threads on the Steam forums about this but there doesn't seem to be a server cvar yet.

Gotta remember it helps balance the movement speed. Slow moving O with fast respawning D wouldn't work too well.

i saw the variable mp_respawntime in there somewhere...and it actually shows the variance

5 seconds or less would be fine. 20+ seconds is insane.

5 seconds actually works very well.

I swear I was playing on a server yesterday where they changed the spawn timer down to 5 seconds.

5 seconds at the MOST I would tolerate.

Right now I'm getting sick of playing JUST because of two things.

Respawn timers and sudden death.

SD is a waste of time for a bunch of players just waiting for the others left to kill each other. If the game ends in a tie then it is a freaking tie, no big deal. I never ONCE heard a complaint in all 8 TF mods I played about having tie games.

Dumbest thing is even with SD the game can STILL end in a tie if both sides have players alive by the end of the SD timer.

Agreed, I think the only way sudden death would be tolerable is if they boxed in an area on the specific map and just had a shoot out. It would still be unnecessary, but fun nonetheless.
