slow loading...

so far the only HL2 mods i've played... TF2 and CS:S load VERY slow. by slow i mean like, click the link on my desktop, go grab a snack, take a dump, come back and i might be ready to join a server. anyone else having/had the same problem, and any tips on fixing it?

my rig isn't top of the line but should be good enough...

Same here.. I had same problem with HL2DM loading, but added some lines in and it decreased a bit. I'll try those also.
