Re: tf2 match footage
haha the kill when you drop down from the C structure and strafe just in view of the soldier at far B connector: I watched the demo, and for like 5 or 6 seconds before that you're up on the second level staring at him through the thatched window as he strafes back and forth firing rockets at spawn or something, always coming just half an inch from peeking one way or the other, before finally as shown in the video you get tired of the whole thing and just drop down and shoot him. should have included the lead-up~

Re: tf2 match footage
you guys must have horrible computers if you can't watch x264 encoded mp4s lol. the reason people use that codec is because of the much higher boost in quality AND lower file size on top of that. it's the best of both worlds. (and definately not the easy way out for the person rendering the clips as it takes forever)

Re: tf2 match footage
Is it me, or the video, or did it seem like 75% of those shots were fired with the xhair clearly off the target yet they still registered?

Re: tf2 match footage
All tf2 videos should be with this compression and this quality. As previously stated get vlc already and enjoy an awesome quality/filesize ratio.

Re: tf2 match footage
incredibly entertaining. what games did he play before tf2? his aim is impeccable. ive played against him in quite a few pubs and quickly learned to avoid open field when he's on the other team.

poor pangu's team could never beat us from CAL-main through CAL-invite and CEVO-m playoffs <333333333333 ain't that right MiSTaaaaaaaa?! keep doin your thing in tf2 though bRaH you're gettin a nice lil rep goin for yourself as mister sniperrr.bringin it back to the real world though, let's be honest. it's a good clip against a solid team and pangu's one of the better snipers in tf2 for sure. i'll def give credit where credit is due so props for that, but coming from a counter-strike background his aim is simply above average with a good chunk of tf2 players' aim and reaction time being well below that since this game isn't as precision based as cs by a long shot. is it the best aim i've ever seen? not by a long shot..but he's gettin the job done. i'd go out on a limb and say 3/4 of CALi css players have better aim than probably the majority of tf2 players (with the exception of scouts..that's a very difficult class to "master" and i've seen some very powerful scouts in some scrims), but that in no way shape or form automatically makes them good, smart, instinctive tf2 players. i'm actually very surprised to see how poorly a lot of players transitioned to the game to be honest. i'm enjoyin meetin a lot of the tfc guys, and i like the community a lot. you guys are all very well-spoken people with a lot of different talents and in-game smarts than i'm used to seeing from cs. the real difference why i feel sniper will not be a dominant class is the fact you can't scope while in the air. if they added that feature to the game, i think you'd see a lot more snipers being much more effective. in css, often times when you know an angle someone will be peeking you from, you can get a running start, jump from a spot you know because you have a good understanding of the movement, scope your gun and get your xhair in the general vacinity, and then when you land on the ground you have a split second to fine tune your aim and pull the trigger. aggresive sniping and quickscoping is much more prevalent in css, and i really wish it was implemented into this game instead of having to rely on camping way back. i'd argue there's only probably about 5 really good snipers in the game that put up productive numbers, i'd also say out of those five NONE are big time impact players that are capable of single-handedly swinging a round in their favor or breaking up a 3-4 man cap. if any class could use a buff, i'd say it's the sniper. arod was talking about increasing the learning curve in another post. there's your learning curve right there. sniping isn't easy as it is. add the quickscope/quickpeek element and i bet you'll see a lot more snipers makin some noise holy shit that was a long post, my apologies lol. seriously though, that's a good clip, props pangu |

Re: tf2 match footage
The hitboxes are WAY different in TFC than TF2, that's another reason the CSS guys are better snipers IMOTBH

It'd be cool if snipers could charge up while unscoped like in TFC

Re: tf2 match footage
A good sniper already can completely turn a 6v6 match where he is left much more vulnerable and on an island. Throw a good sniper in 8v8 and he can even more easily turn a match.
The lack of scoping in the air isn't a big deal as you can quick scope the moment you hit the ground. It actually requires faster reflexes to do the latter quickly than to be able to do it midair and then fire once hitting the ground. I don't understand the argument that it is more skillfull to do the former...it's just easier. And I hope you realize fr0d and the entire complexity team plays tf2 right? Having played against their team on a sniper friendly map (dustbowl) they weren't above a guy like pangu at all, in fact our own tfc po00p was sniping 1v2 against them most of the time. You have to remember that basically everyone in counterstrike moves at about the same speed as the hwguy in tf2. Movement is far less predictable in tf2 than it is in counterstrike which results in many missed shots for even the guys with the "best" aim in the world. Aggressive sniping is already very possible in tf2, you didn't see the level of cs sniping you have now after 2 months of the game being around, with time you will see more of it. |
